question Snapdragon 801, is clocked at 2.5 ghz, as per other handsets, So why is this 2.3ghz, surely that's a Snapdragon 800. Don't see any performance change to a S4, or G2.

Clearly you don't know how to optimise your phone.
Also there is a particular Wi-Fi setting (do some research) guaranteed to kill battery life, changing it and adding the Snapdragon battery Guru (no I am not advertising - just stating a fact) increased the battery life from 20 to about 30 hours on average.

No matter what the performance is, this phablet is simply too big.

The original htc was a great phone, but I decided not to buy because of lack of micro sd card, also the camera was not so great, the main reason the htc one did not sell is simply because of marketing, it was shocking! This year however, it has been all over the web and there is much more awareness of the device, it's even advertised in shops on billboards and various other outlets and it's not even been announced yet, and if this new camera has been addressed and it has a micro sd slot then I see sales with a much higher figure then the last model.
