They released the G3 in Asia only first with the 801 SOC on purpose, which we all know has sold extremely well oversees. LG claimed to be the first 'major' manufacturer to bring out a QHD device with wide regional availability, it was right there in they're keynote for the G3.

The 801 is a fantastic SoC and on any 1080p device is more than capable, but it's not up to driving QHD displays, the G3 will get by for the moment because most content (games and video) is rendered 1080p. But as soon as this changes the G3 will start to look very sluggish indeed, LG know this, they just weren't patient enough to wait for the 805.

That would be true if LG was actually the first. But they weren't so you are wrong. And LG never claimed to be the first with a QHD screen. There a couple of phones with a QHD screen that was released before the G3.

And the failure of the G3 begins...shame.

Should have been advertised with the 805 from the start. Now, the original, mediocre performing G3 will be cannibalized, suffering even lower sales than it already was going to.

Too bad LG. Life's not so good after all, huh?
