Don't take out the ultra pixil specification and plz increase the battery mah to minimum 2900 coz my m8 doesn't last long and this phone battery is non removable that why it's battery must be a bit powerfull then m8.

It's not good enough for a phone this expensive. I wish it was, but it's not. I have taken a lots of photos on my M8 and most of them would be unusable for printing. Some photos are okay, but still my ex-S4 took better pictures. M8's only problem is the weak camera, but sounds like that problem is soon fixed. Let's see when the 13MP version comes out and GSM Arena reviews it.

Just for kicks....
You want great photos, you buy a great camera. You want a great phone that takes great photos, you get the M8.
In 99.9% of all cases, most will take lousy cell phone snaps, and post to social media or text / email. In every case, the M8 will be more than sufficient..
As far as image QUALITY goes.. Well, if you can get past the addiction of more MP is better, and look at image quality, I will tell you that color, and overall gradations are excellent for a camera / phone.
Interior lighting is spot on, and YES, ultra pixels do allow for a better quality photo in reduced lighting.
For those camera buffs:
The Nikon D700 used the approach with their camera. Larger MP, less of them. It worked like a charm.

You are just a spec-geek, photography are different. It is not speed and not measurable by just number.

Its a normal 4mp sensor with 2.2nm lens which captures more light, when compared to a 16mp and 20mp the textures and expansion of a photo does not even come close to a 10mp camera never mind a 16mp and 20mp I do not believe one bit you compared the m8 to any phone otherwise you would not be asking for a 8mp ultra pixals.

Please HTC, don't drop the UltraPixel technology .. I love it ..just upgrade it to 8MP UltraPixel instead of 4MP, and everything will be PERFECT.

I own M7 and now M8, and they produce one of the best picture quality from a smart phone. I even compared it myself to other smartphones such as iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, Samsung S4 and S5, and Sony Z2, and I liked the photos produced by my M7 and M8.
However, I noticed that some of my friends M7 was not as good as mine, and some M7 cameras where very bad in general!! I believe some units of HTC M7 have defective camera sensors which results in bad picture quality. But, thanks God, mine produce excellent photos.

L... moreAre you drunk or something!!! I have 25 years experience in photography, and M7 and M8 UP cameras are one of the best I have ever seen. I have done many tests and compared it with iPhone 5S, Gallexy S5, and Sony Z2, and M8 produced better picture quality overall, and was FAR better than all in low light conditions.
I love the HTC UltraPixel, and I hope HTC will not drop it for a standard 13MP camera .. instead, they should upgrade the UltraPixel to 6 or 8MP and then it will be the BEST camera phoe ever.

The phone is nothing else than great, but the camera is really like a potato. Even my friends Galaxy S3 and my ex-S4 takes much better pictures and you can actually use zoom for those pictures. And those weren't exceptionally good camera phones when they were released years ago...

I was about to order one on Saturday, and for some reason my instincts told me to wait till their October 6th announcement. I'm glad I'm waiting. However if you live in India I have slight negative predictions.
It will launch at 40-60K Rupees.
Absurd inaccurate E-commerce pricing. The M7 retails at 35k on flipkart when it should be 24,499 Rs.
It will launch few months after October.
It's still a risky purchase since many complain about bad after service from HTC India.
This is the best Android handset that will come out. If you can buy it, do it.

suddenly the interest for HTC is back :) thanks for listening HTC. since this is a mega pixel war, why not a dual 20mp? i bet that will follow. for the starter this is a good news.
