This is good news all around. I am really liking the M8 lately and was about to buy One ;-). Just have to wait a few more weeks. Since they are making improvements, I hope they do increase the display size to 5.2" and include the 2.5 Ghz CPU for the US release.

AnonD-312711, 27 Sep 2014Big phones are not for short hands. And that is a 4 Ultr... moreIt is a 4 megapixel camera on a small (1/3) sensor.
The camera consistently performs worse than M8's competitors.

Where is the innovation you are talking about?

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2014Because people love to hate. I think it's amazing. However... moreTrue.
Problem is, the camera sensor size (1/3) is likely to stay the same.
If that would turn out to be true, the upgrade from 4MP to 13MP won't make much difference...

Let's not go back in time, but new phones half the price of One (M8) tend to have better cameras.

Great! Only thing that was stopping me was that poor 4MP camera with less detail.

If I had a M8 with that crappy 4UP camera, I'd be pretty mad if the M8 Eye came out!

Isn't it wiser to wait a couple of months, and then release a HTC One M9?

I wish they'd make the M9 to be in the same price range as the Note 4 and iPhone 6+. I could bet that HTC would "kill em both", especially if they published it in november, so they distribute it before Christmas. Snow wouldn't be the only thing that'd flock on HTC, dollar signs as well ;)

However continually limiting it to 4MP and then taking the OIS out was foolish.
If they had raised it to 8mp or higher and retained 2UM ultra pixels it would be far superior.

M8 owners should sell now to maximize their phones resale price, nobody is going to want a 4UP M8 once the 13MP M8 comes out.
