Phablets are wildly popular there, and I don't see any manufacturer getting over the Apple/Samsung hump in the US.

Well people will always complain and hater will always say it is ugly but if this exact same phone with this exact same design was made by Samsung, you could see the Samsung fans saying it is beautiful and powerful. They can even see that this phone is as powerful as the Galaxy Note 4 is but they just avoiding to comment about specs but kept on hating because the Galaxy Note have a real contender.

That water resistance is nice, worked well on their 2013/14 phones.Hell the Moto G was surviving full immersion with only that coating.So yea take it as a bonus.
On the other hand, why they have decided to make 6" Nexus is beyond me.Okay it's not ugly, you can't call it that if you have seen the moto x '14, but so large device dunno...
Maybe Google is trying offer best in both forms, coz Nexus 5 remains in sale, so phone and a phablet it is.

In all fairness galaxy phones have some of the best looking cases available, if i could point out the HunterF for the Galaxy S3, probably the sexiest case ever, or without a case, look at the S5 and the Galaxy Alpha, I'm sorry but they're good looking handsets, always with high tier hardware and the newest OS is rapid, so I don't know where you get off saying it's ugly. It's vibrant and quick. ?

berahim, 16 Oct 2014still sony is the first one who make water resistant phone ... moreHaving had the Z1 and S5 I can vouch for how good their water proofing is, i've been in the swimming pool and the ocean and both worked superbly, but then not everyone wants to do that, however knowing that when you spill your wine all over the table and your phone happens to be on it that it'll be alright is a good thing and I guess that's why they did it, the price is high enough as it is, any more and it wouldn't have sold.

Motorola was making splash-re... moreI think there's huge difference between Splash resistant & water proof.... which means I can sink my phone in water when I find it's becoming hot or I can click pictures inside the pool ( I have tied both & it works great (Xperia Z1)

still sony is the first one who make water resistant phone for every flagship, not mid range or low range, then now samsung followed it. we will see that htc and lg will do it too, soon. but this one is not water resistant so why bother about it. google is true not too promote this as water resistant or splash resistant etc
