I wouldn't swap for a curved edge screen. 1080 is plenty, no pixels showing. Fingerprint unlock is wonderfully quick and easy ;in surprised how the location just works, and I've set it to unlock a couple of apps on the phone as well. Battery tonight was still 75%,and my previous phone regularly needed a top up on the day.
The only thing I regret it not having is a stylus, but you can't have everything.

From performance, lovely display,camera,stereo sound,Big battery I can go on and on.....

Mojito, 13 Feb 2017You obviously do not know much about low-light photography.... moreMy friend i get your point and am no new to smartphones, and if you check out my comments i have acknowledged and listed the best low light smartphone shooters out there! And to remind you I know about low light photography. The problem most users in this platform I guess you icluded always rely so much on what reviewers show you, even I was skeptical before purchasing mate 9 but I was dissaproved by its capabilities. I have to admit at first I could say its low light was not impressive, but when Huawei pushed a software update low light shots became much better!!

First of all, in the winter time the percentage of the low-lights shots vastly increases. Furthermore, when someone is taking some indoor shots the lightning is normally bad, not comparable to lightning in daylight shots at all. That is why, a lot of shots (from my own experience) are low-light photos. Nowadays almost every camera, even from midranger, takes very good daylight shots. The main differentiation between them is in low-light shots. Sad, but true. Second of all, you want to tell me that mate 9 takes lovely night shots. Okay, if you say so. But unless you prove it otherwise, I will say with confidence that the night shots made by mate 9 are terrible. Please also check the recent comparison between the mate 9 and the LG V20 here on GSM Arena. Compare the low-lights shots. I think I said it enough, cause the LG V20 is MUCH more better than mate 9 when comparing low-light shots. I love Huawei, I want them to succeed and as far as I know some positive criticism is always welcome. Is it so wrong to tell my opinion (which is based on true comparisons)? I hope that in the future phones, including P10, the low-light capabilities will be better. In that case I am also willing to buy the P10.

To people who don't understand the things that make a smartphone to stand out to be an all rounder beast phone like Mighty Mate 9 lemme break down for you:.
Design - I don't even have to explain in this area and you all know mate series design
Hardware & Build quality - Man! This thing excels in this area, the hardware and build quality of this piece is just marvellous! It is a device that was made to take a beating, I can tell this thing can take you for more than 3yrs
Display - The display of this master piece can put to shame all those phones with 2k displays because the display on mate 9 is just lovely to look, colors are puncy not over saturated like amoleds(although I like Amoleds). Oooh man! This display is bright I think you need to hold it in front of you to believe it.
Performance - I don't know if I should talk much here, because I think most of you know what Kirin 960 is! This thing fly's in this area no Android phone at the moment comes in front of this beast. If you need to experience real gaming like in gaming consoles, please get Mate 9 coz this thing chews whatever game you throw At it.
Camera - I know some people will try their usual whining oooh S7 is the king in camera oooh pixel is the king, I don't deny that, but what i can just say, this thing has a lovely camera and camera tricks that google pixel and S7 family will dream to have.
Software - If you have never used a huawei phone you wont understand the tricks and how futuristic the Emotion UI is, and with Emotion UI 5.0 things have just gotten better. Now there is the app drawer oooh yes!! The app drawer
Battery - I guess I don't have to tell you how juicy the endurance of the battery in Mate 9 is! This thing can get you full day comfortably with heavy usage, Mark my words HEAVY usage....
So what possibly could you ask in an an Ideal smartphone? Because you can see Mate 9 excels in Almost all areas...

Ahmad, 13 Feb 2017Not everyone likes those thing that you mentioned.Well if you don't like it, don't use it. The presence of removable battery, IR blaster, FM Radio or Micro SD card slot NEVER hurt anyone. But it's absence does hurt.

Ok, so Mate 9 Pro endurances for 87 hours while regular Mate 9 only does 82 hours.
Same chipset, same battery capacity, but the Mate 9 Pro has a QHD AMOLED while regular Mate 9 has "only" a FHD LCD.
So doesn't it imply the AMOLED is super-efficient compared to the LCD?

One thing I don't like about the Mate 9's music player: It's crops the album cover art to a circular shape. :(
