Nokia 808 PureView in low-light: From dusk till dawn

20 June 2012
The fact that Nokia 808 PureView is the best cameraphone money can buy is sure as shooting. This won't even pass for a pun. The 41 megapixel sensor and the tack-sharp optics deliver what no other smartphone can match and we even saw it successfully stand its ground against much heavier competition.

The current best compact is Sony RX100 with a 1 inch... morethe rx100 isn't pocketable though and compared to the s100 its lens hump sticks out way too much plus the rx100 is $1000.... its basically a micro 4/3s without the lens change ability for the price of a dslr... seriously?

              Conclusion Part 2:
Samsung Galaxy SIII SUCKS! It has no ISO1600 setting and produces some of the worst photos of all-time in an 8Mpx smartphone.

Nokia seems like it won't be handling over the the best camera crown anytime soon.

the only reason samsung fans bash nokia symbian belle phone is cuz they've never used it. Nor they can afford to buy one.
They buy the cheap galaxy y and come to this website and fart that they have a galaxy s3. Typical samsung fans.

Look- its a great camera phone. I use a Nokia N8, my housemates all have the I-clone. The Apple is a great phone but its not really your phone- its rented by you, it really always belongs to Apple. Everyone who has seen my phone likes it, I like the operating system. I like it because its not an Apple....It takes great pictures, runs spotify and all the other key apps....My last phone was an HTC hero which was also a good phone....So yes, i think i will buy an 808, I have enough reasons....Oh two more- they also pay UK tax and employ people in the UK and Europe (for now anyway). They also offer 2 year guarantees on their phones.

Well who is arguing, that 808 is NOT DSLR? Me? No :) I'm just curious. You can compare everything you like. Even a bird to a dog. They have almost the same DNR, right? Like I said, those comparisons are pure fun. That's what it is. I'm going to buy this phone regardless of it's win or loose to hasselblad :P Because, it's very interesting device! take care! :D

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2012why cant nokia 808 have accessories like these to compete w... moreBecause only iPhone needs them LOL

And also putting other lenses especially those tiny unheard of branded in front of the sharpest and most precise lens Carl Zeiss ever made would completely ruin the image, the PureView does have lossless zoom which will be much better, heck if you still want more zoom cropping the zoomed images will also produce better images.

Furthermore putting those lenses in front of the lens of even the iPhone will cause problems the devices auto focus etc. will be confused because of the different aperture etc. Also you won't be able to control the aperture of DSLR lenses because their electronic connections won't work.

And you're honestly just teasing yourself with those small toy lenses.

The 808 can use any normal USB SD card reader because it has USB on the go and Nokia are selling a tripod adapter for the 808 so you will be able to use any standard tripod gadgets like gorillapod.

You can change your white balance or the shooting mode like vivid on the fly or opt for post-processing to get the desired results. SLRs are of course out of the question and the high-tier SLR's are used as a yardstick in that field because of their natural color reproduction.
