Had this for last couple days now.
Where it has great things about it I put it up on Kijiji to get my money back.
The camera is an absolute joke, my iPhone SE takes better pictures.
    Fingerprint scanner is poor also.

          2. Camera is good, but not excellent. Not flagship camera. With good light conditions can make beautiful pics.
          3. Yes, you can hide the notch, but there is no need to do this. Phone looks better with it.
I am very satisfied with essential phone

Somebody local is selling this phone brand new in packaging.
I know the phone started out rough but there’s been lots of updates.
So now that it’s 2019 I’d like to hear from owners.
            How’s the battery life?
            Camera?
Does it have a double tap to open screen?
Can you hide the small notch?

The only issue I'm dealing with this phone is it doesn't connect to my parent's Spectrum 5G network for some reason. I have no issues with reception. My Moto E4 also doesn't connect to its Wi-Fi.

Both my LGs and iPhone SE connect. The SE tends to have slower speeds though. The LGs are the fastest. Weird. The benefit of having multiple phones but then having specific issues for each of them.

No FM radio and no 3.5 jack. Sorry, but they are Essential for me.

how many Essential models here >?????

I'm the type of person who rarely drops my phone but I've accidentally had this phone fall on a hard surface twice already. Once on wooden floor and the other was earlier today in my room on tile.

                    Result? ZERO DAMAGE.

This phone is amazingly durable. Mine is the halo gray model with the matte finish. The durability reminds me of my first Android smartphone, the Nexus One. It almost just bounces and nothing happens.

One of the best phones I ever had. Trust me, I've tried them all. I experienced using over 15 different brands of phones. The Essential Phone is a keeper. Worth every cent of the $249.55 I paid for it and then some.

Fabulous phone, cant trust most reports cause they only reflect launch challenges that were quickly resolved. Have had it month and this is definitely a great phone. Picked it up for 350 and it easily takes on the overpriced so called superior phones! Don't forget, the opinions are often bought by the bigger players! This is phone is real competition.

Best phone I have ever owned, hands down. I haven't had a single problem with it, and I have taken some very nice pictures with this phone. Highly recommend.

EmiliaBedelia, 05 Dec 2018Probably the worst phone I have ever owned. After owning it... moreI have ordered and used two new PH-1's. They are terrific phones. Not issues to report so far after 6 months of use on first one. Have been noticing prices going up a little lately.

The only issue I have with my Essential Phone is sometimes I need to turn it off and soft reboot. Do it at least once a week or two.

If I haven't turned it off for at least a month, the touchscreen begins to wonk out and everything gets laggy and warmer.

This should be done to all smartphones though. Reboot it once in awhile.

Probably the worst phone I have ever owned. After owning it for only the summer (and taking impeccable care of it!), it stopped recognizing my headphone jack, so listening to music on headphones is no longer an option. Apps crash ALL the time on it, I'm lucky if I can get the Weather Network app to even open, let alone load. Oh and the drop down menu at the top of the screen has a mind of its own - it will open, close, whatever it wants, whenever it wants, usually resulting in me completely restarting the device.
Save your money. Buy a Samsung.

Agreed. Best Android phone ever created. Highly underrated. Never knew a nearly pure Android experience could be this good!

                                      Best phone ever.

As a proud owner of this phone, It runs buttery smooth, and has exceptional battery life, paired with Android 9.0, and I even got a Wii emulator running on that phone with 30-40 fps average. best phone I have owned yet.
