Momo: Yes you can transfer data to other devices... You have to use the infrared to do so and NOT the bluetooth!

Eli: You can buy a new remote control at www.protel.de. They sell everything for the phone! Just go the the online shop (seen on the left of the main page). There is an item called "Alcatel One Touch S 853 Remote Control" with the number "RC-11162". Order it there and they will deliver it world wide, no problem!

Laura: Yes you can! When making a call and the connection has been established, simply use the navigational key and scroll through the call menu towards the right, there is an option marked as "voice memo" and it has a tape recorder as an icon. You can record calls for 30 seconds or 1 minute or so each time. You can record during a call as often as you like (as long as your phone's memory allows it ofcourse)!

If you still have questions feel free and mail me at un112@msn.com.

Selangor is Malaysia's most populated and prosperous state. And I'm from Europe/Romania (!!!)

Selangor? Where is that? Sorry to be so rude... but I never heard of it. I would advise you to buy it at www.protel.de, it is a German based licensed Alcatel shop and service center. You can buy it online through them.

Yes they would, but sometimes they don't do that. In that case contact your service center who has updated it and ask them personally what version they installed. Or ask them to report that in the receipt you will get.

                        Knight Rider,
Thanks bro. However, how to check if the firmware has been updated? Would they put a new sticker or what?

Heck: According to my information the lastest firmware version available for western Europe is the 188 version. Also I can fix your pc suite for you, if you want ofcourse. Just send me a mail :) !

thanks for the answer knight.. and otboi... i had fixed the video duration.. thnx much.

i also reiterate that the problems i listed on my past posts were just minimal problems. nothing big. like the cd installation, you could still have great downloads even without the software. the ots853 phone is pc-friendly.

and its my bad to say the phone isnt durable. i didnt mean it. what i meant is, the phone looks durable. if you hold it, it seems not because you will think that it is only 93g compared to its size. but it is durable. knightrider is right to say that it doesnt produce squeeking sound when at use unlike other phone brands.

ask knightrider: what is the latest firmware version for ots853 that we could avail at present?

Yes, you can download games on it. But they will only work if they are compatible with this platform. And yes the songs will play continously if you have them all in one folder.

what the Heck: The problems you mention are indeed for the most part firmware related. The sudden crashes and resets are mostly resolved in later and newer versions.

Now to some of your specific remarks: You said
                                  the 3d sound sometimes makes your signal in an fm station worse to hear;
*The 3d Sound is not meant for radio stations. Radio stations that have weak signals or are in mono will sound strange with the 3d sound. The 3D sound is meant for high bitrate (192kb and more) mp3's, to emulate a surround effect.

You also said: The cd or service pack you recieved isnt just working in your pc. it cant install. it always prompt an error.

*This is not true, the CD works fine, if you have the system requirements that is and if you get a mistake during installation that is due to a mistake you make, mail me to find out how you should install it properly.

Also you said the phone is not durable, actually I disagree, the phones construction is really solid. The phone makes no weird noises and the buttons are all solidly in place and are not hanging loose... I think when you say not durable you mean the battery back cover. Yes when removed often or after a while it can develop some "noises". But don't all phones do after some good intensive use?

Still its nice to see how you support Alcatel by applauding their currage to launch such a phone in these difficult times for Nokia and Sony competitors.

Also, you say there is no unlimited recording. There is infact. Well extended should be the right word. You can record up to 10 minutes of video with the phone, during one single take. If you do not know how to set that up send me a mail I shall tell you. Mail me at un112@msn.com.

OT Boy: In theory yes... the charging should work fine if you use a charger with the EXACT same values, however it is not advised to use non Alcatel chargers on Alcatel phones, there could be a potential danger, just ask Nokia... They will know what I mean. Also one note, I think your charger might have died due to a power surge, such a surge is enough even for a split second to kill your charger... It happens, just bad luck that it happened to you.

Mpeg4 videos work indeed, if they are choppy try and reformat them using some moviesoftware, change the resolution to for instance 176 x 220 pixels, or change some settings for the codec so that it would easier to run for smaller processors (like the ones seen in mobile phones). It should work better then.

Rikimaru: yes the 164 number is the number I was looking for, it points to a seriously outdated firmware version, I would advise you to look for a service center (for instance through the shop where you bought it) and get it updated there, you will find it much better afterwards!

just bought a universal charger with the same rating.. 500mA, 5V... hope this one lasts (...and doesn't damage the battery or phone)
