If you want perfect photo's, go get the Nikon. But if you want a stylish mobile for a reasonable price, the 853 is the right choice.
To tell the truth, I haven't got used to making photos and videos with my phone :). In emergency situations - yes, but actually that's what the camera and the camcorder are for :)

If you want perfect photo's, then no doubt the Sony is the winner. However if you want a phone with a robust construction, special looks, value for money and a wow factor (not to mention ease of use and signal strength) the Alcatel is perfect for you.

But thats my view on it... ;-) !

That's right, rog, SE K750 only beats S853 when it comes to camera/video display and performance and it's all because it's a 2 megapixel camera. K750 also wins in bluetoot connectivity.

In your opinion which fone to buy Alcatel S853 or k750 and why.

in my opinion s853 is better - has edge, dual stereo.the only minus is the bluetooth transfer.hope future soft fix that.
k750 excel s853 only in the better camera :)

          Georgie:

Please remember that before a mobile phone from any manufacturer be approved for sale in public (or for public announcement), it will pass thru security screening by the authorities to see if it is not made for any harmful purposes specially for terrorism. And even though if Alcatel is capable of doing this, I think the authorities will not allow this phone to be sold in public. Thus, I believe that Alcatel anti-radar phone does not exist.

You can check your software/firmware version by opening the back cover of the phone, removing the battery and check the label seen on the phone under the battery. There should be a 3 digit number starting with 1. So something like 169... or 177... or 179. The number you see there is the firmware. As for the bluetooth I reckon it is limited by the software, in other words if you have any programming knowledge it should be no problem unlocking the bluetooth completely. I hope Alcatel will launch a fully unlocked bluetooth for this phone and I think they will... just not tomorrow.

About the PC software, you can do basically everything... create animations, custumize images, warp images, resize videos, create ringtones and synchronize your phone with microsoft applications (like outlook). And best of all its all included in the package... unlike some phone companies...

                    1. How can i see the software version of the phone?

2.Do you think that the bluetooth transfer is disabled by software or hardware? And do you think in future a new soft version can fix that blue transfer?

3.In your opinion which fone to buy S852 or k750 and why.

Thank you all in advance fo answers :)

Alright people... one more time... The bluetooth only works with headsets and not with data transfer to other phones or pc. If you do want to transfer stuff you have the option of using the infrared.

No you can not update the firmware yourself without voiding the warranty, you have to let it be done by a licensed service center and as long as your warranty is still intact it is free!

The phone does have +/- 10 mb of internal memory, but... because of all the ringtones, pictures, videos and applications already intergrated into the phone it is only normal that you do not have the full 10 mb free and available.

Anymore questions? Go ahead and send me an email, I will help you anyway I can!

                        MPU:
Unfortunately, firmware 183 is not yet available in the Philippines according to Versatile Telecoms. Hopefully, it comes out soon since version 177 still has a few minor bugs (And i guess the occational "hanging" is inevitable anyway at this phone). Just a question: is the internal memory of OT-S853 affected when firmware is updated? I previously had 169 with only 8.48mb of internal memory. After having it upgraded to 177 it went down to 8,14mb. Sad to say, according to Versatile, all their OT-S853 units don't have the complete 10mb of internal memory. :(

                          To ARIEL:

I meant the 183 firmware for the 853
AS I had the 169 and it was rather buggy.

                            To ARIEL:

I must say that the 853 version is practically bugless, if not to mention the bluetooth inability. So let's say the 853 finally settled and works fine.

to Diana, all you need is is a cable w/ standard USB on one end and a mini-usb (similar to the charger end) on the other. just plug it into the same slot used for charging and it acts just like a usb memory stick.
