About your problem, I think the mini sd you have now is problematic so try to use another mini sd card of any brand or still Kingston.

Mini SD is recommended, but a 512 mb micro SD using a mini SD adapter should work too... should.
Also about the discussion how we are employees and are paid to say that Alcatel is good... this is NOT TRUE! If only I had a Euro for every email i replied to in the last year that i have helped people with when it comes to questions about Alcatel and even one here... I would be able to buy a very nice HDTV. But I and many of my other friends here do it for free, because we feel that us Alcatellers are like one happy family... and atleast I feel I should help fellow fans and users if they need help... Nokia should be so luck to have such people doing this...
I do however help Alcatel to improve their phones by sending your feedback and suggestions to them... so please if you have more feedback, continue to send it to me...
And for your information Alcatels European range of phones are hailed for their technical quality and reliability... they have a very low return rate!

crisfall, 11 Nov 2008hi everyone, i have a problem with my memory card it always... morein my point, it would be best to use mini sd card, than to have the adapter...one thing, though im not really sure, that when we used something that connects, it reduces contacts, speed and others things...nelson was using kingston as he said in his earlier posts...maybe it would be best to use mini sd card...im using an NCP mini sd card...and i got no trouble....
as for soona:
my friend, im sorry if i mislead you and the others...well nelson is right im not paid by alcatel...im using s853 without any worries, and only tried to help others, by comparing the phone that i have with theirs....
and also, im not referring to you (04N2)...and if it is not muhammed, i want to apologize...and it it is him, then ill tell you, im open to all criticism, thats what i do in reality...im always the leader of any discussion of our group in school and other activities...i feel sorry that i said and point it out directly to someone...im really sorry...

hi everyone, i have a problem with my memory card it always corrupt and i always reformated it everytime it corrupted or unreadable. I bought this memory card few months ago. i bought KINGSTON microSD 1GB with MINI adapter and SD adapter. Is it okey to used this mem card or should i used the MINI SD?

i just tell that those guys keneen and... moreTo make things clear, Knight Rider, Keenen and I (Nelson) are not paid for our help here. We are not Alcatel employee. We are just enjoying our lives freely, heartily and voluntarily helping those who need our help and it is enough for us that those who received our help have given us THANKS in return. Keenen and I are not the same person although we are both Filipino. We are from different place in the Philippines and have not even met personally even if we come from the same country.
One thing that we can assure you is we have been, we are and we will still help those who need our help in many ways.
Also, gsmarena does not update the line up here so I would like to tell people that Alcatel OT S680 is a very good phone with a very good price. If you are interested with this model, you can google it.

2nd we didn't come here to call each other... morelol...doesnt matter how you call me...but i think upon research that you have the same ID as muhammed (04N2), wow i got it, i think hehehe... just to let you know im not that easy to be fooled...
fm radio for s853 is good, thoguh i never have the longest of times listening to it, coz i got mp3 player all the time, no wonder why i need to keep on recharging everyday hehehe...
it can be used to alarm what you want to be called reminders...but im not relying on it, coz i mainly used another phone for alarms, to save the battery of my s853 coz it is always used as music phone...lol...
maybe nelson can help...

3RD what about the radio? is it stereo?
i like the brand itself..& i'm just confused between these two :
-v770 for it's looks..(and being the latest model)
-s853 for it's features..honestly it's not common to find a phone with a radio, MPcam and mp3 player in one phone..
so how about buying both of them! :D lol (just kidding!)
4TH does it have a reminder system? an organiser?
5TH what's it's price in ur place, keenen?

Mohammed, 02 Nov 2008I had Alcatel OT-S853 firmware 169 and i leave in cairo Eg... morein my place, you need to go to the store where you buy this phone...if they are authorized dealers, then they can upgrade that software, if they are sub dealers, it will take a month before you can have the phone bvack to your hands...pls insist on upgrading the software of this phone, it is your right, unless they just sell and they are not authorized, then it is impossible....i think ivan can help you...email him....h is knight rider and i think he has written his email address here...try to look for it...

soona, 02 Nov 2008so it can be connected (thnx keenen btw! :D) i don't kno... morewell if you ask me, why i buy this phone, my answer is that because of it's unique looks...at the time of buying, i was choosing 2 handsets, nokia 3110 and this phone...though ill tell you that nokia 3110 has more features and some kicks, but im into music playing and nokia 3110 cannot match the audo quality of this phone...so it depends on your choice...if you choose features or looks...right now, since i have this unit...im now into looking for more feature-rich phones...and still waiting for alcatel to release such phones...
