JPD, 02 Jan 2009First off the hype overseeds the actual phone. I am NOT an ... moreI'm happy with the iPhone camera:-

So stfu.

I can email pictures like these and cc as many contacts as I want to add for less than one cent.

On my old phone I could send a picture to ONE contact for FIFTY cents.

So who is getting ripped off?

People can send me an MMS to my email address and I will get it on my iPhone OR if they send it directly to my phone my network provides a link so I can retrieve it using Safari, they even provide a reply link.

I have not had a chance to test it yet because in the six months since I got an iPhone no-one has sent a single MMS, all my friends use email because they have smartphones not dumbphones.

Please stop complaining about MMS and Bluetooth.

In the 273 pages of opinions you weren't the first to mention it, everyone here has read it again and again and don't need to hear it ANY MORE!

Why don't you write to Apple if it's that big of a deal? I'm sure they have a complaints section somewhere where they can read the thousands and thousands of emails and letters saying:
"OMG you has no MMS and Bluetooth! ZOMG you fail!"

And I'm sure they really care.

Kim, 01 Jan 2009Who using Iphone . since everyone also like to use iphone..... moreSo... You bought this phone without reading the features, is that what you're saying?

Complaining about it's lack of Bluetooth and MMS is quite funny if you actually BOUGHT it then found out it didn't have it. Why didn't you do your research and find out the phones specs before buying it?

Sorry, forgot about the MMS, quite a sad case that all pictures have to be emailed to others.

First off the hype overseeds the actual phone. I am NOT an apple computer user and for the last well.. forever I have hated apple for their stupid iPod after iPod without upgradeable memory and the likes (iPhone no better for this) but I thought I would pick one up just to play with the touch screen and virtual momentum and stuff. I am a proud owner of the Nokia N95 8GB, great phone, amazing camera, amazing applications. First off the Email setup is just so simple on the iPhone, just pick which service you want (Yahoo and Gmail for me) then just put your account in and BAM, no server settings or anything to hassle with. As well someone had stated here the zooming on a web page or picture is amazing. Unfortuneatly when you syc pictures to the iPhone it optimizes them so the 5MP shots from my N95 look quite crappy when zoomed in on with the iPhone, any pic does :(. The camera on the iPhone is weak and it matches the bluetooth of course. I can only hope an update would unlock the bluetooth but with knowing apple it'll be "iPhone 3G Bluetooth" edition :(. Application startup on the iPhone KILLS the N95, a touch and less than 1 second later the app is up and starting, the N95 can sometimes take forever. The lack of custom ringtones without a jailbreak is also dishearting, a simple cut MP3 worked great on the N95 where you have to buy a track and cut it for the iPhone which limits you to iTunes songs, I know some of the video game songs and stuff I like for rintones aren't on iTunes so again :(. But the GPS is a GREAT improvement vs. N95 GPS. The lock on with the iPhone is less than a minute where the N95 can take upwards of 5 minutes +. Again this is a personal observation on the two devices, I am keeping my N95 8GB as my camera/planer/bluetooth file transfer/modem phone. And for now just still messing with the iPhone whose battery life is aparently just the same as the N95's

I hate the apple Iphone... Is absolutely useless... Apple is just trying to steal our pockets with good design and a good interface... What about specs? At least MMS and Bluetooth? And I mean real bluetooth, not that bluetooth just for the apple headphone? It completely sucks, for god sake... I hate it...

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2009is it better than n95 8gb or not??? n what is main differe... moreWhile the N95 has the memory slot and dedicated music buttons, along with more functional bluetooth (so far) and more dynamic file management, the Iphone's interface and seamlessness easily topples the N95. Just zooming on the N95 takes at least 5-6 seconds while the Iphone zooms instantly. Itunes syncing is also very convenient for itunes users (obviously). Applications for Iphone are for the most part MUCH better than those for the N95. The only thing N95 does better than Iphone is the 5 MP camera. Try using both for a few days and you'll feel the loss when you switch back to the N95. Iphone is a work of art.

making an app store for the iphone is easy since the resolution and capabilities of both iphones are identical.

i just bought a HTC touch HD, be with me monday and i cant wait to slag the iphone off.

                lol i joke.

I just bought the 16 gig Iphone 3g a week ago. I love this phone. It is so much fun and awesome. No MMS sucks but the other features make up for some of the holdups. The touch is far better than any other touch phone out there as well as the screen colors and clarity. Third party apps are fun. I now have the best of both worlds with the Iphone and the SE C905 8 mega pix phone which I suggest to anyone. I also invite any question of these phones. Thanx, eddie

?, 02 Jan 2009iphone can't send MMS? and it's camera is only 2mp? No MMS? - Yes, but instead of paid MMS massages we use QUIP, which is 1$ to buy and free to use. It does the same thing like an MMS massage. You can send your pictures to ANY phone with it. So, we don’t have MMS but we don’t need it eider.
No Bluetooth file transfer? – Yes, but we have AIR SHARING which is a much better way of transferring files to the phone or to the PC and back again.
No Copy/Paste – Yes, for now. But the rumor is that this is going to be fixed with the next update.
2 MP Camera – Yes and that is more than enough for average pictures. If I know that I will have to make high quality pictures than I will use my digital camera. For everything else iPhones camera is more than enough.

So, you see the iPhone has everything what we need. And since there are thousands and thousands applications for it, the possibilities are almost limitless.
I invite you to take a look at the applications at the ApStore. You will be amazed. You can not compare that with any Nokia with lagging user interface and expensive trial games for it. For iPhone you can find A LOT of free games and the paid ones are much more cheaper and better than for Nokia.

This is how it is. A little more and iPhone is going to take over 90% of the smart phone market. Not because it is the most advanced phone, which maybe isn’t if we take a look at all aspects, but because of the applications made for it. Apple has did it again!

Steve Jobs loony bro, 02 Jan 2009To all you loonies out there, thinking that Iphone is the B... moreFor the longest time I hated the Iphone, thinking people only got it BECAUSE its the Iphone regardless of what it can actually do. I thought (since I was looking into a new phone at the time) that there MUST be something better, because such an overwhelming majority couldn't possibly have the best option out there especially if its the most popular phone.
After weeks of research on all different phones and operating systems, the Iphone still had the fastest processor, the most RAM, and by far the most applications made for it. The user interface and general seamless-ness of the phone is unparalleled. No other phone I've ever seen or used or even heard of has ever achieved such a beautifully simple and functional interface.
People say that apple has a hold on customers and that you have to pay for apps, but the majority of applications are free, including the ones most commonly used. Examples of free apps include: Facebook, Shazam (which Sony Ericsson charges 5 bucks a month for), pandora internet radio, Wikipedia, a free dictionary, a FREE language to language translator, Instant Messaging app, metronome (I'm a musician), as well as MANY games. Even of the ones that AREN'T free, they only cost about a dollar.
Also to the Iphones advantage is the abundance of 3rd party developers, meaning people can make programs or games or ANYTHING for the Iphone, utilizing all of its features, and publish it to be sold in the App Store. The few bucks you'd pay for all of your games or applications is EASILY worth it.
The Iphone is also the only mobile phone to utilize Multi-Touch, which allows for "pinching" to zoom in and out of stuff. The touch screen is easily the most dynamic screen of any touch screen phone and ONLY reacts to fingertips, which proves convenient since many complain of pocket button presses.
The low Megapixelage of the camera is not so bad at 2 MP as long as you steady the phone before capturing. The phone was built around the idea of simplicity, which explains the lack of features. If you want to take a good picture, either spend 900 bucks on the C905 8 MP camera phone or buy a camera. 2 MP is good enuf for most things and phone camera flashes really tend to over expose pictures anyways (I used to have an N75 and I would turn off the flash even in dark areas).
Integration with Itunes is simple, quick, and efficient. Many people complain that you have to use Itunes, but Itunes really isn't so bad, or maybe I've just been using it this whole time. Regardless, its one of the better phone-PC syncing clients out there. The Nokia PC Suite was buggy as hell and made transferring files a nightmare. While bluetooth syncing and mobile internet on PC through phone was nice with Nokia PC suite, its easily something I could live without (the Iphone web browswer is the best of any mobile phone and in most cases can provide as well as a PC with regards to text and even youtube videos etc.)
The variety of applications available for Iphone is nothing short of breathtaking. There are literally thousands upon thousands of applications, some better and more useful than others. My brother who is a Ph.D student for Neuroscience was surprised to find an application that can be used to view MRI photos in 3D. I've found WebMD applications, lolcats, loldogs, programs for music majors, Medical School Terminology, Medical dictionaries for professional usage, the list goes on.
Anybody who says that the Iphone "sucks" probably only hates it because its popular and because everybody has one. I used to be the same way until I realized that it was more than just the hype. The Iphone is a work of art in my eyes and does what it does perfectly, and then some. Also, with each update from Apple, more and more stuff is becoming available. I heard recently that bluetooth file transfer is on the way, along with MMS capabilities (thankfully) and A2DP Stereo Bluetooth. This phone isn't for everybody, but it is certainly a match for most, if not all, phones.
