BlackBerry Bold User, 31 Oct 2008Why didn't you buy the BlackBerry Bold? I chose the BlackBe... moreThat must be why the US senate is switching from Blackberries to iPhones.

There is one thing RIM and Blackberry does better than anyone and that's email, except when Microsoft messes around with Exchange, which has caused some issues in the past.

OSX is easily the most powerful operating system ever put into a mobile device, Apple has always kept to proprietary hardware they will not change that particularly given their recent success.

Developers have only begun to scratch the surface as far as applications go.

"Developers of Documents to Go are now bringing Microsoft Office to the iPhone. They even put up a dedicated web page for the service’s imminent release. You gotta wonder though; since copying and pasting are important functions for the Office programs, does that mean the iPhone is expected to get them soon or are the developers of Documents to Go relying on a hack for copy and paste? Regardless, iPhone users can soon get Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on their fruit-flavored phones including support for 2007 versions."

    Read life reality :
Technology pioneer Apple has posted a dramatic increase in profits after seeing sales soar over the past three months.

Announcing the company's results for the financial quarter ending in September, Apple said that it had seen sales of computers, mobile phones and iPods rise dramatically over the same period in 2007.

The company shipped more than 2.6m Mac computers, 11m iPods and almost 6.9m iPhones, leading to revenues of $7.9bn and profits of $1.14bn. That increase marks a profit increase of more than 26% over the same period last year.

"Apple just reported one of the best quarters in its history, with a spectacular performance by the iPhone – we sold more phones than [BlackBerry maker] Research In Motion," said Apple chief executive Steve Jobs.

Apologies for ranting here, but I wanted to share my dismay, if there was someone like me who's in the process of buying a phone like this, coming from a background where PUSH Technology is a necessity, not a luxury.

Nothing beats the iPhone for music, photos, media viewing, and third party apps. It blows everything else out of the water. But it's no multi-tasking device, IMHO.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2008How is it I can listen to music, browse the Internet and wh... moreThanks for the reply!

I guess this phone really is THE phone that does multi-task for SMS. I just wish that it can connect and simultaneously chat with people on Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Facebook, while I route something on Google Maps, all at the same time, and is also capable of synchronizing with my Google Calendar over the air.

All of those, while I have a game paused running in the background, and the browser pointed to my favorite news website, while I am typing an email to several of my clients.

While I am playing WMA/MP3/AAC encoded music.

That, for me, is multi-tasking. Something I was doing back with my ugly BlackBerry Curve. It was ugly, but the battery life was great, and it did ALL THAT.

                          I guess, it's my bad, I was spoiled. :(

Is that a lot too much to ask? I mean, the iPhone is so beautiful, and it does have Safari (best browsing experience so far, as long as you don't browse more than three web pages at once), but multi-taskin on it is a joke.

You're considering the ALARM function a part of the multi-tasking? Come on man, then that makes the Nokia 1100 a multi-tasking phone as well?

                                What's this:-

"The Apple Newton, or simply Newton, is the iPhone's predecessor and was an early line of personal digital assistants developed and marketed by Apple Computer (now Apple Inc.) First developed in 1992, it was sold from 1993 to 1998."

                                Source Wikipedia.

So which phone prior to 1992 did they copy?

Palm didn't exist, HTC didn't exist.

But don't let the facts get in the way of a good whine.

As i stated before....missing features + upgraded camera with a powerful flash + the touchscreen and features it already has = one powerhouse device.

if that equation is included in the next iphone, i may consider getting another one. ( i do have the iphone 3g but got tired of it so i bought an n95 because i was after the conveniency of an all-around device: camera, internet, and phone.
