I just got iphone3g, and its great cause i carefully researched every flaw and realised that even though its missing a few certain things, what it does, it does well.

If you use or have used this phone, when you grab an N95, you will feel that the user experience is lacking in the N95.

So yea there are a few small missing elements but they are minor, in fact i rarely use them, and since ive had it, one person wanted to get a photo that was on my phone, and i said the phone couldnt! end of story. the world didnt end and i didnt hate my phone neither.

(What a bunch of babies we have on this site. Crying over small hardly relevant things.)

Is the iphone a good phone?

    It is for me personally,

so dont bag it out if it doesnt fit your phone criteria.

Just choose another phone and get off the pc.

cause you just cant please everyone.

If anyone is thinking of buying an iphone then y'all should do y'all home work first before you get one, unfortunate for me i brought one and paid the price of regreting getting it. With the selling price of an iphone and the technology the've put in to it you'd think that it will have all basic function like sending pxt messages and customise ringtone and taking video plus more but it hasn't so personally i think the iphone is a total piece of s..t

The D , 21 Aug 2008i was waiting for the omnia to come out until my phone brok... moreIf you knew what the iphone lacked and still bought it, don't blame Apple but yourself. The iphone does not know your personal needs, you do.

The iphone is mainly for making calls, ipod, storing pictures, organizer & the internet. If your phone needs are beyond that. The iphone is not for you. It's as simple as that.

The iphone lacking features that suits your personal needs does not make it a defective phone. Yes, it does have features that could've been better, like forwarding text messages and copying and pasting, and I wish they'd fix that on their future firmware updates. But it does not make the iphone inoperable just because it can't forward a text message. It's fun typing on the iphone, so I don't mind sending a new message.

You are wrong in saying that you cannot send a text message to multiple recipients with the iphone. I don't know with the first one, but with the iphone 3G, you can send a text message to multiple recipients.

I find the spellcheck feature very helpful in correcting my typos. And I would say that it is 95% accurate. But yes, it would have been better if there's an option to turn it off, and again, I hope that Apple will address that issue on their future updates.

The 3G internet and the large VGA screen contributes to the fast draining of the battery. They can make the screen smaller and downgrade it to QVGA like the Omnia, but who would want that (maybe you)? They can remove 3G and stick to EDGE, and I wouldn't want that either. So there. Don't expect an 8 cylinder SUV to consume gas like a 4 cylinder car.

The speaker volume of the iphone is decent. If you find it pretty low, you probably need hearing aids. As for its vibrate mode, this is a cellphone, not a dildo.

As for your childish complaints on limited ringtone flexibility, go get a Nokia. Iphone really wouldn't mind =)

On internet. Of course there's still room for improvement, but it's still way better than the others. So I don't know why you're even complaining about that when you cannot find other phones who can match the iphone's web browsing capabilities. Your whining is pretty amazing.

On memory. 16 gb is more than enough, unless of course you do not have a dvd player and a tv set at home, or maybe your homeless, then I guess a 10,000gb phone would be what you need. And again, the iphone is not a business phone for people who transfer files a lot from cell to cell. Anyway, who does that regularly? I really don't know. I don't know about you, but I'd rather use my HP laptop for business than any phone =) Unless of course you cannot afford a laptop, then I guess you really do need a phone that can do everything. If that is your case, then I do understand your frustration. The iphone is really not for you.

2mp camera is good enough for phones. A xenon flash would help, but then again, does not really help a lot w/ the cell phones' design and size, or even the results. The iphone takes good pictures in good lighting conditions. If taking pictures is a big deal for you, I suggest that should not depend on camera phones, but rather get an SD Canon standalone camera, then transfer those pictures into your iphone. They'd look so great on the iphone's big screen.

You should've waited for the Omnia. Or, you could still buy the Omnia. It's unlocked. You can put in your AT&T sim card in it. Then get the iphone unlocked and sell it for $700, or even $800.

Get this phone at our own risk.
The phone craves for service fees, which you'll be wondering why others aren't paying for when the bill comes for you.
There are better ones out there. Iphone 3G is another example of APPLE's greed instead of providing you with what you need.
