Its only problem is it does not support sharing of data through Bluetooth. Other wise it is an unmatched phone in every ways.

I have a few more questions, sorry if I sound stupid, but what formats of video iphone supports? (mp4, mpeg4 whatever others are out there?) Can you somehow download whole films onto it? I heard that the new Omnia has DviX (whatever that is) and the GPS on iphone is practically useless because you don't have sound navigation, so it's just like google maps and nothing else.

My advise: buy a cheap and reliable phone, which can be a lot cheaper, so don't waste your money on this iphone or the n95. Use your money on more useful/pleasant things.

the iphone 3G is slower than an n73.
i couldnt phyisically use it in store without it crashing.

Hi guys, I amthinking of buying a iphone 3G. I need some features from my phone. So can anyone of you confirm if this phone has the following features :- firstly, is it possible to download files via edge service. Secondly, does it supports dial up networking, and finaly, how good is the build quality?

What can I say, it's a great phone, lack of MMS and front facing camera are no biggie's to me, MMS is so 1999, half of the people in this country can't receive them any way because either their networks haven't activated it for them or they can't be bothered, being able to upload full quality photos to facebook, flickr, blog and email them makes up for it.
Let's face it, video calling was a gimmik, no one uses it, the only people you'll video call will be abroad because you don't see them every day, and even that's expensive! And the call quality is crap.
The camera's pretty good quality for a built in camera on a phone, it's not a dedicated camera, so every one who's complaining about the camera quality, get over your self. If you're really using your phone as a dedicated camera your just stupid.
Typing on the thing is a lot faster than using a dedicated keyboard or T9 (predictive txt), you get used to it, like anything. It's 100% responsive and corrects mistakes for you as you type.
The email client is the best I've seen by far on any mobile device, the lack of certain features (copy and paste for example) is a bit of a let down, but little things like this can be fixed with a software update.
Safari is amazing, enough said! Best browser seen on any other mobile device, it's highly responsive, and renders XHTML perfectly.
Music, amazing, so easy to use! Just like an iPod, again, best mobile music player, hands down!
Applications... well with over 800 apps since launch 4 days ago, it touts a huge library, with more apps to come, you'll never get bored.
GPS is much better than expected, it out ranked my N95 which takes an age to lock. The assisted GPS on the iPhone locks on within seconds, even in buildings. The accuracy is indicated by a blue circle around your current position. It tracks really well, on a train from home to work, and it managed to keep up.
I have to say that the only let down is the battery life. But saying that, using all of the features throughout the day is bound to drain it, the same with any other mobile device that's just as feature packed. All you need to charge it up is a USB cable, which fits in your pocket or your wallet.
10/10 best phone I've ever owned!

Someone said this was an expensive phone for what you get... you wrong. I picked up the 16gb verson for 59 pounds when I renewed my contract. Cheap as chips and works very well.

Well after having this phone for a few days now, I can say it's very cool. The exhchange integration was easy as pie so I have said goodby to my blackberry 8310 with the "4.5software" The VPN works but have not used the remote destop yet so can't comment on that fully :S I do feel it's limmited in the apps department but saying that it's been out for all of 4days now so I'm sure there will be some cools stuff to come and I may even bring myself to code some if I can't get what I want. Just got a MMORPG and that plays well and can see there will be some more WoW compo on the way. Bloomberg also have an app for this so all in all a good work and play mobile.
One thing to note is if you integrate this with exchange it will wipe you contacts and then use the outlook ones. This was good for me as I could sync my old phone to Outlook and as if my magic they were on my iphone.
No a 10 out of 10 phone but will there ever be... 9/10 from me.

I dont see what everyones problem is. If you dont like the phone, FINE! But most of people who are saying the phone is bad havent even had experience with it.
First off the phone is fast, faster than any other device i've ever had or tryed and since i work in Phones 4 u, i'v tryed alot.
ok the camera is only a 2mp but the quality in the day is very good on the screen. Apple could of made the camera better but it dosent bother me that much.
The music menu system is the best on any phone but you dont need me to tell you that. Do you N95 owners.
The new apps feature is great. you can now download voip and make cheap international calls as well as get access to facebook with their great app. the games are better than any other device i've seen including the ngage. they will soon be releasing a satnav app that will work just like a tom tom. so stop complaining that there is no satnav like the n95 one.

You Tube on your phone. works great.
Email straight to your phone that works amazing.
For all the negatives there are more positives, so for anyone to say the phones rubbish has either not used one, used one for 3 mins or is just plain lying.
Everyones got their own taste and if the iphone is not for you, great go buy a samsung or nokia with the same old same old. just dont come7in here slaggin off the iphone when you have no idea what your on about.

bad camera, cannot recieve mms or send mms without installing certain programs. alot of money for a low budget phone...

Come on. I'm not a die hard Apple fan but the phones fine. People either give it to much credit (it does lack basic features)or say its crap all together. The phones as good as any other.
