yhe2x, 09 Jun 2009Some few things that the new iPhone 3GS is lacking not to m... moreThe only thing i agree with in your post is the design, surely the best product designers in the world could have come up with some changes! Everything else i completely disagree with.
Point 1) internal storage: Do we really need internal storage cards? i dont think we do if we have 32Gb already installed internally, plus the upside with having it internal is that the data flows/transfer is alot quick, the phone doesnt have to read from an SD card all the time giving a better user experience.
Point 2)Camera: If you really look at the spec of the camera you'll see that the quality is better than most cameras on the market - quality wise. People who know about cameras realise its not all down to "how many megapixels you have", that only matters if you want to blow your picture up to larger sizes, and who wants that. The quality of the iPhone camera, even in the base model, was very good.
Point 3)Browser - do you really need flash support? i mean how much browsing do you want to do on a PDA anyway, its not a show stopper, but i believe there us an app out which allows Flash support.
point 4) I have used many blackberrys and HTC/WM devices in my job and i can honestly say that the iphone keyboard if the best user interface there is (again this is my own opinion). The blackberrys are too small, the storm is just rubbish beyond belief and the HTC models, although are good, are in the same league as iphone. An now the 3.0 has come out with landscape keyboard for mail is a bonus.
Things that are missing:
Radio: Theres an app for that
Java: ? 3.0 has it
Loud speakers: ?? it plays as a loud speaker
Multitasking: this is the easiest phone for multi tasking...... have you ever used an iPhone?
The only handset that is on the right track towards the iphone is the Google phone/Android!
If there are people out there that think Nokia and Sony Ericsson etc are better than iphone need their head examining!

Hi there..!) I am highly addicted to mobile phones and a nokia fun.. However after reading a whole bunch of comments here i decided to respond to some negative comments about iphone.. in general i have to say that iphone3gs is one of the best mobiles out there. it has a few missing features but there isn't any perfect phone at the market anyway! Actually if you do your research on the web you will find out that the most important things which people consider to be in a phone right now is the internet browsing and software which i ensure you iphone3gs will have the best for at least six months.. unfortunately some people will keep posting comments blaming iphone for not having for instance radio!! Thanks:)

Who cares about having a radio to be honest. I have one on my phone and never use it. I'm sure that there would be an app on app store to use internet radio, itunes may even already do it?
I've been looking at phones for a good few months now as it's getting close to upgrade time, and I think that I'm going to have to go for an iPhone, because nothing else comes close. The only other phones I see as contenders are the nokia N97, Palm Pre, and Sony X1. With the exception of the Palm, the others are much more expensive than the iPhone, and the palm looks like it just falls short.

i guess they had to upgrade the iphone.. they are loosing money ^_^ ...apple! put it in league with other hi-end phone out there..there are new phones that capable of doing the same touch screen
but apple os is the best i seen.. i only ask to put some new gagets like camera...radio ^_^

Some few things that the new iPhone 3GS is lacking not to mention the design is almost exactly the same as the previous one:
1)INTERNAL STORAGE --> yes apple increased it to 32GB but again it is still limited without an expandable slot, especially now that memory cards are getting bigger and bigger. Nokia N97 has 32GB plus another 32GB expandable memory which makes it 64GB!, Samsung i8910/Omnia HD has 16GB plus 32B expandable (48GB) -- still bigger than the iPhone 3GS
2)CAMERA --> 3 MP?? I mean come-on now! Nokia N95 came out about 3 years ago and it had 5MP! SE has a phone coming out with a 12MP camera (SE Satio/Idou), Samsung i8910 has 8MP with HD recording. True that a mobile phone should not only about taking pictures but 3MP is just an old technology.
--> Also, NO FLASH and secondary camera? what would you do if you're in a low-light room? I mentioned the secondary camera because of the video call, no secondary camera - no video call.
3)BROWSER --> yes safari is great and all but what about Flash support? it doesn't have Flash Lite 3.0 so that means that you won't be able to view the flash video content of a webpage.
4)FULL QWERTY KEYBOARD --> we all know that the touch capability of the iPhone is the most accurate in all touchscreen phones but having a physical full qwerty keyboard is still better than onscreen keyboard, yes it is true that you'll get used to it but it'll take a while. I have an iPod touch myself and it's been about a year now and am still not used to it.
These are just some of the things that the iPhone is missing plus other small things like:
-no fm radio/transmitter
-no java
-no loud speakers
-NO MULTI-TASKING (limited to few key apps)
Overall, the new iPhone 3GS is a good phone but definitely not the best!

iphone is iphone, you just hate its popularity and charisma, that no matter how incomplete phone it is compared to others, it still comes up on top.
its because people love what it has than what it does not have.
