I agree on the issues in the OS. But once they are gone, Symbian has everything covered. & I woudln't want to miss out on the wide capabilities symbian has for the power user which sadly Apple misses out on. I don't want to annoy or ramble on at any apple guru.

Good organized File system & structure, File manager, copy & paste, File transfer, Bluetooth transfer, remote controls. Excellent multi tasking etc...Fuller Multimedia capabilities, more extensible support on audio, video application files support, OS support.

More Protocols are supported between Symbian & Desktop OS & with general applications from major dekstop OS defacto standards. Symbian has customzation of the whole Operating system & the ability for me to set user based preferences for symbian, applications etc..

I can set & mess around & do more with symbian regarding images, music, videos & user assignable profiles, contacts, PIm settings. Synch through USB, bluetooth no problems for any type of file. Flash based content runs, & S^3 will be getting HTML5 suppor in it's new browser aswell.

That's why even despite symbians breakdowns, its increasingly capable, full levels of functionality that can be customized to user based preferencese & it's very wide support all make symbian what I need it to be.

I appreciate some people will not need or want an OS in which you can have control over & apply settings for content in many given ways. It's very useable & useful.

The Finns Americans thing. No another silly remark. Manuals are good things for anyone that needs one.

When you buy a Nokia "touch Screen" you need to learn how to do resets, battery pulls and if you are using the cr***y N97 watch what you got running in the background, coz you might miss that important phone call as the screen may freeze when the phone rings something that I see is happening to the N8. Apart from the signal problems encountered by a few users the IOS works flawless and the user experience is by far better than that of Symbian.

Actually you are right. The problem is the Software for Apple. The software was innacurately reading the signal being fed to it by the Antenna. But that was fixed.

It was also thought that the Antenna wasn't grounded properly or was loose being interconnected within the same metal frame as the other radios, causing it to go haywire & interfering with other sources of radio waves, GAIN control cancelling one another out & giving sporadic false readings, fluctuations or something of the nature.

I take back my last post comment to apple users because I generally don't like Apple software But their was no need for me to be making stupid remarks or jokes. Apologies for that :)Plenty of apple customers who don't need their phone for the same reason, features as we do.

The reason being why I will never leave Nokia, sure every OS has it's bugs & issues & misses out on things. But I just think symbian has everything covered & allows me to make use of the many technologies that the apple hardware supports, just its not built into Apple OS yet so it doesn't offer me these practicalities.

If apple covered the things symbian covers it would be more useful in my case. As the software functioning for the hardware would be then possible & much needed & much used.

The slow old ARM 11 as fast and efficient as an ARM 8?

              The RAM double?

These are hardware problems with the piece of junk N8.

Steve Jobs says you are not using your phone right right, wrong. So I guesse simple people can't use their phone right, so they are told to use it wrong according to Jobs. Maybe it's not simple enough for you. Looks like Jobs needs to go back to the drawing board
                    .
Steve Jobs has abuse letters written to him daily. I wouldn't bother him if I were you.. he might trip up & give you some inadvertant advice. I'd just use it the way he tells you to - the wrong way. he he.

It's such a shame that the I-phone community doesn't have an ecosystem quite like Symbian Foundation. Symbian is open to community ideas which are listened to & you can go & take part in giving ideas.

Apple could do with something like this so that they can design a phone with radios in the proper placement so you can hold it any way you want to like Nokia do. Hardware placement design is thought about because clearly the Finns are smarter than. oh ok I'll leave it there. :)

[deleted post]That's correct. But *cough* Technically speaking the first release S^3 has less BUGS than the latest IOS4.0 reincarnations abound. How long has it been out & how many things are still not workING riGHT.

Now I could have said Technically speaking that the latest IOS has less functional features. But it's still well behind. Sadly your nice UI multi touch gesture based routines is all that is going for your apple IOS4.

Symbian/Nokia will catch up very sooon & HAS THE REST OF THE FUNCTIONALITY COVERED! :) You like that. YOU like THAT. ha ha. You just wait & see.

[deleted post]these (if any) are software problems NOT hardware like the antenna issue in iphone.

N8 built properly, unlike iphones which apple releases without extensive testings.
