iPhone sells cause of great marketing...

good device , but it will never be like Nokia N900.

nice outfit , medium potentials. After all, its an Apple.

I had decided to stretch my budget to buy iPhone because of its exceptional design. Unfortunately the experience was quickly spoiled by the fact that the phone cannot be used properly the way I like to use it. There is a design flaw in the phone which causes reception to get weaker and weaker and eventually cut out if you touch the bottom left corner of the phone while holding it. I have had this experience dozens of times. It happens more on some days than others, perhaps to do with how dry my hands are. It also seems more affected when signal strength is normal rather than very strong.
It is difficult and annoying to keep on trying to avoid touching the phone in that place. For me, the phone is flawed and I would like to exchange it for a different brand.

I was in store on Monday morning with my paperwork, requesting a cancellation and a refund so I could start a different contract using a phone which does not have this problem. I was told by the staff that they do not refund Apple products. They said they would be able to refund any other phone, but not Apple products. I was very surprised when they said I should take it up with Apple as I had not given Apple any money, so they would be unable to refund me for the faulty product.
I then called Orange support, and they said their phone stores operate differently from the Orange stores, and that I have the right to get a refund and to change to another phone/contract and that I should speak to the store manager there. My concern is that time is marching on and I am being forced to use a phone which I want to keep in perfect condition to return to you, but cannot as the store manager is away till next week.

vineet, 15 Jul 2010hey guys....i need a help...can i use a iphone4 bought &... moreYes it should work as the iPhones from UK France and Canada are all fully unlocked. The only thing which you need to check is if micro-sims are available. If they aren't yet, you can cut a normal sim card (google how to do this) and it should work fine, until official microsims are available.

[deleted post]What are you talking about? Every iphone4 owner who bought a case for their iphone are not experiencing this reception issue. You don't even own one. Who are you to comment about its reception? Use your common sense. Apple has offered a total refund for customers who would return their iphones. I haven't heard of any mass returns. Meaning, users are happy with their iphones and are obviously not affected by this known issue. It's only haters and the media who seem to bring it up over and over again.

                    Regarding PROXIMITY SENSOR ISSUE:

                    1) They are not going to address the Proximity sensor issue with an update, DON'T expect one
                    2) They acknowledge that there is a problem with the HARDWARE.
                    3) The problem stems from some type of issue with the "glue and bonding that prevents light from getting through the layers".
                    4) They are trying to round-up all of the bad ones out there
