There was another issue for Google Maps, here is a tip, use your wifi connection and load up the area your visiting, google maps locally caches this information for sometime(reboot ?) so when your out on the road it does not use the GPRS to download the map.

It does not mean in any way that they have a separate version for each popular phone - you can try that yourself.

shubham , 11 Sep 2008thanks prashant.now as I spend time ,I am loving this...goo... moreShubham, Nav4All is similar to Google Maps in that it also required a constant GPRS connection to download the maps on the fly. The 3rd option in this category would be Live Search from Microsoft. If you don't have a GPRS connection, then you could opt for a software that already has the maps bundled in. I am using SatGuide (Destinator) which came bundled with my P527 and MapKing which supports a great native-look interface. Another popular option in India is MapMyIndia.

surfer88, 11 Sep 2008Yes, even Opera mini does not seem to be more cumbersome th... moreYeah guys, every other browser has its disadvantages... I personally have 4 browsers on the fone:
1. IE (obviously, i do most browsing here)
2. Opera 9.5 Beta (really nice on wifi, heavy on resources)
3. Opera WinMo edition (got a keygen! is good, but still slow, tabs are a nice feature)
4. SkyFire (registered with a US number, got the beta!, amazing, best, and handles even flash, slightly slow, complete rendering of pages like desktop)
One that i dont use is Opera java version, i feel IE is better than it anyway (for EDGE)
Am just waiting for the chrome browser for WinMo. It revolutionized desktop browsing, now it'll make browsing on fone as great!

Not only it reduces the battery time, it might brick the phone in the process and void warrenty. Do this at your own risk.

Murali, 10 Sep 2008Hi t-dome,
TCPMP's latest release can be run on our P320... moreIt is not the latest version of TCPMP; it is the same 0.72RC1 version recompile with the fix. This is available in several forums; try google "
TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.CAB.zip" I have been using this for a couple of weeks and it is working fine on my P320.

If you checked Opera's site, you will find that they no specific version for Asus phones, although many other models and brands are available. Guess, we would have to wait for them to do so. But hold it, Skyfire is already on the way....

Dear Murali and others
Please provide your feedback on A... moreHi Madhav, Here are some answers:
1. I prefer the HTC Touch's build quality to the P320's due to a more durable body and a hard touch screen on the Touch. But the P320 does seem to be durable in its own way.
2. No problems there - the display is very crisp.
3. Overall battery life is pretty good, but may go down if you use GPS, WiFi or Bluetooth.
4. While the rightone is pretty good, you may end up missing a call in avery noisy area unless you also have the vibrate on.
5. Camera is okay for outdoor areas, but does loose a lot in most indoor situations.
6. Yes, you can charge through the USB port.
7. You bet - that's why most people buy WinMo phones!
Hope that helps.

You could have easily typed in "802.11" in Google to find out everything you could ever need to know from the first result link (Wikipedia). If your WiFi router supports it 802.11g, then your phone will automatically use it, otherwise it will connect using 802.11b.

Murali, 10 Sep 2008Hi t-dome,
TCPMP's latest release can be run on our P320... moreGlad to hear that you could watch you tube successfully using TCPMP on wm6.1 (asus p320).
I have been trying many times to do so but without success. I have tried various plugins...
Could you share with us how you do that, what plugins required and what steps to take to view the video ( need to download first?) and any particular settings on TCPMP required ?
Regards...
