As for battery, yes, it could be a lot better.

But at least this is just a phone. Imagine having to charge your watch 2x a day...

Like if you were loading Windows 8, it would not matter whether you applied patches to Windows 7 or not, as upgrade would remove it completely and replace it with Windows 8.

MIS, 29 Sep 2014Dear Tomazz Sir as I heard, the SAR value of Zenfones is hi... moreThe highest CE SAR value for the device is 0.53 W/kg.

The limit in EU for the CE certification is 2.0 W/kg.

                      Page 165 of the manual.

Note that the highest SAR is on 1 line of signal (very weak, with strongest broadcasting) on 900 MHz GSM 2W band. Higher frequencies / better signal produce much lower SAR value.

That said, this is higher than my other phones, those that have it in their manuals:

                      Sony Z2 - 0.38 W/kg
                      HTC M8 - 0.22 W/kg
                      LG G3 - 0.23 W/kg
                      Samsung Note 3 - 0.36 W/kg
                      Sharp Aquos - 0.21 W/kg

Others don't list it in manual or on the box.

So yes, from those that list it, it's on the high end.

AnonD-279813, 29 Sep 2014Kit Kat will overwrite whole OS. So you can do OTA. But ... moreso, regardless of the GB download, there will be no difference between updating via OTA and not OTA, right?

But ... moreDear Tomazz Sir as I heard, the SAR value of Zenfones is higher than Samsung and Sony models. But on gsmarena they haven’t provided SAR value of Zenfone 5 and Zenfone LTE versions. So kindly give your opinion on the SAR value of Asus Zenfone.

Renegades, 28 Sep 2014Should i buy asus zenfone 5? What about its performance?is ... moreI think it would always be best to go to a shop and play with a shortlisted selection of phones and choose the one you like the most.

Specifications are only a part of the story. Of course you don't want to pick something that will constantly hang, lag, and perform in a way that it annoys you all the time.

But the overall package, how it feels in your hands and how you like it when you are playing with it should be a far more important part of the choosing process.

Asking people on the forum should not be at all, as you'll always see lovers (buy this thing, it's the best thing since Earth cooled) and haters (this is a total piece of sh*t, don't buy it) and redirectors (don't buy this, buy that instead) fighting for your attention.

Read the reviews and opinions on models that are in or close to budget, write down the complaints and mark what you can live with, what's likely to be solved, and what is unacceptable - make a short list of those that you can live with - then head to a shop that has demo models and give them a test, with the list of annoyances in hand, so you can check whether it is acceptable for you.

And don't be surprised if you walk out of shop with something that wasn't on your list at all :)

But note that it's 1.4-1.5 GB, so it would take some time, and you would not really want to do it on your cellular connection.
