For those worried about how to differentiate between Chinese and international version, I've loaded some Chinese model A500CG with 8 GB eMMC and 1 GB RAM, 2 GHz Atom CPU, Chinese Android photos.
They are on mega-networks.asia/ZenFone/CN/
Ny03rZK - if phone has printing on the box in Chinese and lacks the line of configuration
MTxiwfG - If the IMEI starts with 35223906
195EX2a - if the Intel logo is on a sticker and not printed on the back plate (and if plastic wrap is written in Chinese)

You can get the... moreI have posted what the IMEI should start with, but that's only taking into account the international models and is not inclusive of other genuine models, hence I have decided to remove this information to avoid concern of users who have IMEI starting with different numbers, but actually have genuine phones.

You can get the IMEI if you dial *#06# on your phone.

THIS IS THE PHONE NOT TO BE MISSED.
Very easy user interface .using mi3 also but still loves asus zenfone5 for its ui.Camera quality is awesome.No lagging experienced eve after installing and playing heavy games-Asphalt 8,dead trigger,sub way etc.For long battery u can use power mode.

Is this mobile is Genuine or not. Because i bought 3 piece Asus Zenfone 5 and i checked its IMEI Number on site imei.info and i found message i.e. "it is not registered" or it is shows the information of Nokia Mobile. Can any one tell me why it is show like this.

If you are upgrading, you should not lose any data or apps, unless your phone was rooted.
Still a good idea to have backup to gmail account enabled.

Is it possible that the driver is installed wrong? Maybe under device manager you have any unknown device - if so, remove it first.
Yes, it is possible to copy to SD card and then use File Manager to place it into the internal memory.
It might even work from root of SD, but I never tried that.
Make sure to unzip the file you downloaded, don't place .zip in the phone.

I tried to connect mobile to PC but not connecting. Can i copy the file into Sd card and later can i install it.
& during installation do we loss our installed apps and contacts list?

Hi Tomazz,
Zenfone has bluetooth 4.0 but transfer speed to other bluetooth 4.0 devices is very slow (~150kbps)...what's the problem??

battery life is worst for zenfone 5. does anyone have same problem. its 2110mAh. bt actually battery is not giving that best output. battery drains out without any use of smartphone. and from 100% to 10% within 6 hrs with just no use (battery was fully charged at night, but in morning it showed me just 10%). plz tell me what to do now if your battery is poor what is the use of all these extraordinary features ?
