If they can somehow combine the 8 & flip, they'd have the perfect phone. Water resistance, no camera cut-out, Micro SD card, a bit bigger of a screen, & FM Radio in one phone, it'd be perfect. I'll still get the 8, glad they're coming to America this year.

So between the 8 and 8 Flip have to decide between having an SD card slot *or* a 3.5mm jack? Guess I'm not getting either phone.

This is phone of the year already, amazing camera, out of this world performance, amazing simple design, jacked internals, lightweight, small, 120hz, class leading speakers, 8K video, chart topping performance for its class, IP68 dust and water resistance rating, 5G. i love it i love it I LOVE IT!!! all for expected $800. this is an amazing deal

I think the main reason why they're doing tall screens is so they can say we are giving you a 5.9" screen even though functionally it's smaller when you do anything meaningful.

Unfortunately Asus does not know what flagship means... They have removed sdcard slot (which they could put as 2nd sim as hybrid), and then they used usb 2.0 480 mbps on type-c connector, which is capable of usb 3.2 with 5gbps speeds.
Samsung S20 (last year flagship) for example, has usb 3.2 type-c port, and Asus decided to use usb 2.0 which is 10 times slower on their 2021 flagship?????
Sorry Asus, no sell for me... Everything else is fine, but cutting off fast access to external storage is unforgivable for flagship device.

Could've been very perfect smartphone for me. But a little compromise that there is no sd card ruined everything.
Shouldn't have removed micro sd card option Asus. Otherwise this phone could've been the masterpiece.
Now i am confused to buy it or not just because of micro sd card option missing . i need to think like that. I have a 1 tb memory card of sandisk should i throw away a 400$ card ? 🙄

When you watching youtube video in 16:9 display, you will see black bar in your screen. Yes you can zooming in-out but today phone display standard will be match to what sony did with their phone which is 21:9
