Do not buy this phone.
It is overpriced
It is near impossible to get music on without a memory card
Battery lasts less than a day
Freezes
Turns off occasionaly
charge doesnt always work
recieving bluetooth only works with a motorola
and judging by other peoples responses it is genrally quite faulty!

i love this phone. its a bit heavier than i had thought but its very cool. the screen is gr8, the only problem i am having is with it turning off on its own and freezing sometimes but not very often, this problem was in a previous comment i think. i bought mine from the orange online shop and paid £89. i was pretty annoyed that it didnt come with a usb lead but am not 2 worried as i will get a cheap bt dongle soon. overall, a great phone.

Nice phone, but I don't like the mediaplayer that much. I'm not able to scroll through my music list, while listening a song. It's playing every song, while scrolling. Besides that, nice phone, cool design!

Ok, got this phone a week ago... and it's perfect. Really. No bluetooth problem, camera is a 1.3, so you get a 1.3photo, nothing more. The biggest problem I heard about is battery. Well, 50% display lighting, no pro-slide & key tone, auto key lock, average use per day (30min calls, 15sms), switch off at night and it lasts 3 days. That's my phone setting.
Ah, I heard about auto switching off problems. My fw is version 12 Variant A101, no problem.
The only cons I have found are memory (you *have* to buy a Micro-Sd, 16mb are really nothing) and keypad, 1-2-3 are difficult to push for me.

I'm wanting to buy this phone for xmas
I would like to know 3 things:
1: I've been reading it is difficult to send things via bluetooth with other phones is this true ?
2: Does this phone have speakerphone
3:The problem with the battery life- if you turn the settings down to 30% or whatever- how many days can you get out of it-assuming you switch it off at night.

hi there i got this phone the EL71 yesterday its wickid still waiting to get the USB lead to listen to music,in all i think it is wicked i dont like the camera though its not clear enough but in all again its good

i have had a benq-siemens el71 for a few months now and to be honest i love it , except for 1 problem , i have bought a memory card and i have songs on my phone that when you listen to them they will not play all the way through.

Hi i got the Benq-Siemens EL71 for my birthday and it is great! Its got most things you need on it but when i am trying to get music from my m8z using bluetooth i acept it but then it says operation aborted. This is very annoying and someone please tell me why this is not working. Also i can not send or retrive MMS. Why NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brought this phone in august loved at first a great screen and very good camera for the money, MP3 player and sound a very good. The battery is not great but by turning down the screen to 10% and turning off the screensaver you should get about 3-4days out of a single charge. "BUT" maybe i had a bad one but since the begining of october i have had my phone for "3 DAYS" first it was repaired for a faulty flash unit (camera) had it back for couple of days and then the internal speaker when faulty, still waiting for it to be returned/repaired (carphonewarehouse UK). It is now the 4th of december the phone has been in for repair for 50% of the time i have owned it!!
If you buy this phone you will not be dissappointed as long as you get a good one. Also I dont think the carphonewarehouse sells them any-more and maybe there's a good reason if they keep going wrong?

the batery is 570 ma what did you espected and it switch of when it is cold

heya iv had this phone for about 3 weeks and i love it , one problem though , when i get my friends to send me songs through bluetooth , the battery goes dead real quick and the battery still only lasts 1 day . any body no why ?

Hiya loving my BenQ-Siemens EL71 great mans phone...can anyone help im trying to transfer some music sample in wav,mp3 and its just not letting me(im using a bluetooth dongle) also is there anyway to use the flash as a torch ...Thanks for your time and help in advance

Just update software to vers 31 and no bugs at all. Battery lasts for 2-3 days without switching off. Tested for two weeks and nothing to fault. Very well built except for the battery cover. I recommand Benq-Siemens to supply an Aluminium battery cover to elimeinate this small problem. On the whole a perfect phone.

this phone is a 10 star phone i just got it and it is amazing does everything i wanted it to do a good mp3 player aswell and also is a good camera phone 1 of the best ever slide phones i have ever seen so if you are thinking of buying 1 concider because it is amazing and im telling the truth!!!! 10\10

i am thinking about getting this phone for christmas but i want to no a few things before i definitely want it. does it have good memory? is the mp3 player good? does it come with pack so you can download music of your computer? that sort of thing.
