Battery life with 3.5 hours talk time is just so not a business phone. Improve it, siemens!

The SL91 is a Siemens design, not a BenQ design. It was one of Siemens' projects before BenQ acquired the mobile unit; BenQ only finalised it for production. It uses a Siemens user interface.
So in other words, BenQ had hardly anything to do with the development of this phone. The SL91 is a bona fide Siemens. And a bloody fantastic one at that.

Siemens invested 250 million euros and wrote off assets amounting to 100 million euros before transferring the mobile phone subsidiary to BenQ. Siemens also acquired a 2.5% stake in BenQ for 50 million euros.
So, there's a possibility that this slider phone is still using Siemens Mobile technology.

Hi Everybody,
Siemens was the first one with a slide phone not nokia.Siemens made one misstake to wait so long before they made sl65. Thats why Samsung came with D500 and it was a great succes. Now samsung is making a lot of slide phones. But is not fair, Siemens should be the best slide phone maker not Samsung, Nokia, SE. I think with SL91 Siemens will be on the top again.

I love everything about this phone, the 3.2 megapixel camera is brilliant and the VGA video camera is very nicely placed. It looks amazing, and will definitly be a super phone. However, the only minor things i have to down this phone on is that it is slightly bulky and thick, also it has no flash. Other than that it is sure to be great.

The first slider phone was Siemens SL10. And I think it was the first mobile phone with color screen too.

This looks like a great phone, pity about the flash, but I guess you can attach an external one which would end up being 100 times better than your standard LCD. Also pity that it's not a symbian either, but hey we can't have everything.
To answer the slider phone question. The first slider I can remember was actually a Nokia 8110 remember the old banana phone?

the new SL91 would use a Force Sensitive Resistance technology which practically means that the BenQ-Siemens touchpad would react to pressure-that means that it can get turned on while keeping it in your pocket?

This phone is perfect! Nice design, nice specifications, high-quality screen, and it's going to use the same OS as the Siemens SXG75 and BenQ-Siemens EF81. Nice... Oh, and the 3.2 megapixels camera with auto-focus, it's going to be awesome!

Looks pretty much like a sliced egg with some touch sensative button on it and a horrile looking keypad inside.
The other picture in closed mode is looking good because of the angle and lighing. Wait to see it on hand before you say...its the greatest looking phone guys.

Hi Everybody,
I'm glad Benq didn't change the SL (slide) 91 to EL91, like the other slide phone EL71.
Benq did change the S serie ( s65, s75) to E. I think S means SIEMENS. I hate nokia because they now have N serie (n=nokia).
Why they always have to copy Siemens?? !'m glad they never try to copy SX1.Hope Siemens or BENQ-Siemens wil make SX2.
