Optus in Australia are selling this from next week on an $89/month plan which includes $300 worth of calls and unlimited data. Bet Telstra will be struggling to match that!

Love how the Bold will support the rich formatting of HTML - no more plain unadorned text!!!!!!

By the way, Telstra are offering the HTC Touch Diamond $80/month plan which includes $700 worth of calls and 10MB of data. Are they kidding?

Bold it is! Bye, bye Telstra.

Wonderkid, 07 Aug 2008Can someone tell me what the point of a BlackBerry is? So, ... moreHi -
I agree. But note - My Company Blackberry is restricted to Office email. So, I bought an 8120 and a Sony Ericsson C902. Well, what do I need? I need a combination of both. The problem in my view is that Canada and the USA have not been made fully aware of a an "All in" phone such as the Sony Ericsson - or indeed any of the phones available to Europe, but that they are targetted by Blacberry services. And I agree, paying an additional cost for the Blackberry service, which incidently is in my opinion old hat. Google email pushes email to ANY phone for FREE. Martin

I've had both Optus and Telstra... and Telstra was the only one that had reception during elevator rides and basement floors. Optus is good... but not as good as Telstra when it comes to penetraion.

Telstra all the way and this phone should only be in Telstra!

What con? im sorry but you do not make any valid points..Yes for some people, receiving the email immediately is of vital importance. It could make all the difference! I like the E71 but the BB OS is very stable. Most importantly BB's for alot of people are provided by our employers, simply because it is part of the Corporate structure, and, a communications device supported by IT departments...

Can someone tell me what the point of a BlackBerry is? So, you pay £15 EXTRA (approx) on top of your regular tariff - simply so that when an email comes in, you get to know right away - not when you manually check or have your email client poll the mailserver - say, every 5 minutes? Even my old mobile phone from 2005 can do that! (SE V600i) Again, would I be wrong in saying that RIM have pulled off the biggest con ever simply to appeal to suits who didn't realise ANY modern phone can send, organise and send email? I mean, what is wrong with a Nokia E71 configured with your email accounts? (I am not knocking the form factor or product, just the concept!)
