red-tailed hawk, 28 Apr 2010Then CDMA is better than GSM . Agree ?I think GSM is better. Can't really remember, but I was told that CDMA gets less signal strength in buildings and near metalic structures as well as not being able to use the internet while on a call like a 3G GSM device can. I think EDGE can too because GSM uses two different "channels" for data and voice. Something like that. Plus, I get to have as many phones as I like and use one for special occasions, holidays, night out, work, weekends... etc.!

the difference from 9700 is:
support GSM n CDMA
have a bigger size in dimension
bigger size of internal memory
poor battery performance
n there is no information about RAM, processor n OS version yet

aaa, 27 Apr 2010what do u mean by switching devices?I mean that with a GSM devices I can switch between a Nokia, SE or Blackberry just by taking my SIM card out of one and putting it into another. I currently just have a Blackberry 8520 but I used to own 2 or 3 SE and Nokias that I switched around often. And I don't think that is possible with a CDMA phone.

1st, I am not a BB hater because I hope I can afford one. I just wonder why all blackberry designs are so similar and they seem to really have 3 designs.
They are almost more than similar, they look the same.

aaa, 27 Apr 2010is twice memory better ??Yes. With a BlackBerry, more memory is better! Especially since App memory is used for RAM, apps, messages, emails, contacts, and just about everything that has to do with a BB. So, if you have about 300-400 mb of free memory compared to 120mb (9700, 8520, 8900) or 30-60mb (9000 and older devices)the you have a very fast phone with a ton of room for apps and the so-called "super apps".

BB, 27 Apr 2010hi my freind,,,
hope u r doing well,,,
yea it has twice... moreYes, definitely the 9700 is more elegant and nicer looking than this one xD
I honestly don't like CDMA because its not as easy to switch devices during the week. And I like switching devices alot!
I still wish they would make a Bold 9000 with more memory. For me, so far, my favorite new Berry is the 9100 series!

ooo, 27 Apr 2010what is cdma??CDMA stands for Code Division Multiple Access. It is a technique used for digital communication, and wireless technology in particular, that involves multiplexing. Whereas conventional communication systems use constant frequencies, CDMA uses multiple access, or multiplexing. Accomplished through the specific type known as spread spectrum in this case, multiplexing uses varied frequencies to transmit audio signals. This, coupled with code division, which requires a certain code to send and receive the frequency, further protects CDMA communications from interference.

ashu_simple07, 27 Apr 2010ya bb not focusing on pixel ?????? why why not a much bette... moreThere already is a rumored 5MPX camer phone coming, albeit, it lookgs ugly to a lot of people. But it doesn't matter, most good camera phones aren't good smartphones or messaging phones. so, ig you want a cameraphone look at Nokia or SE or even Samsung.

BB, 27 Apr 2010this has: 1)- better memory than 9700 2)- little bit wide... morewell, whis was meant to be the upgrade to the Tour but it changed its name to Bold. So now the Bold series covers both GSM and CDMA areas. This is the best option so far for the CDMA carriers. I don't like CDMA so between this and the Bold, I'd get the Bold. But this has twice the available memory so it already has an advantage over the 9700. This is said to be ready for OS 6 and the 9700 is on the "list" of devices that will get official OS6 suppot. I was planning on getting the 9700 but have now changed my mind for the 9105 and in the future, the BB Slider.
