I was a user of Nokia E 63, but when I hear the noise level of black berry bold -9700 I purchased it but believe me it’s just a wastage of money it is the same device which I was using with the name of nokia E63 please compare the black berry bold – 9700 with Nokia E-63 first before wasting your money on black berry bold - 9700

My only question to you is: Why do you need a Wikipedia app when you have the internet literally at your fingertips?? You can easily access Wikipedia that way. Plus you'll be saving valuable memory on your BB for other useful apps you might come across ;)

Draco Maldito, 31 Aug 2010I'm sure as a Blackberry Bold 9700 user you also experience... moreYou guessed it: there is no work-around for installing apps other than to the phone's internal memory.

Installing apps to an external source (i.e. memory card) would compromise the phone's state-of-the-art security features, which is one of RIM's well-established hallmarks.

Perhaps you might consider keeping only the apps you absolutely need, as opposed to want.

That probably has more to do with the limitations of your carrier's frequency spectrum rather than the phone itself. A phone is only as good as its carrier. :(

Anonymous, 31 Aug 2010I'm thinking of getting a BB but i don't know which is bett... moreGet the Bold. It's slated to get the new OS 6.0, which is an upgrade from it's present operating system, 5.0, and promises to add various enhancements to the 9700's current capabilities.

The Storm, I'm afraid, will not get the new OS. Plus I've heard it has had numerous problems.

Trust me. I've got the Bold. Get it. You can't go wrong. :)

Muhinder, 30 Aug 2010I hate this phone because my boss can detect my location an... moreThat's because it has GPS capabilities on it. GPS is actually a great feature that is useful in many applications (e.g. navigation, maps, locating restaurants or theatres in your immediate locale, etc).

That's nothing to hate simply because your employer can justifiably track your whereabouts to ensure you're not abusing your company's time. That's your own fault! LOL

dots, 31 Aug 2010Why I can't watch the youtube using this bb? Please tell meYou can watch Youtube videos with the 9700. I have one and watch them all the time. Maybe it has something to do with the settings on your phone.

Also, make sure you actually have a data plan other than one that only allows you to get emails and use social apps (e.g. Facebook or BBM).

Assuming you have the aforementioned in order, there should be no other reason why you shouldn't be able to watch Youtube videos on your 9700. Hope this helps :)

Blackberry's market is more of the people in the corporate world. Executives I must say during their early years but if you're gonna look at it now, BB's price are much lower due to the market competition.

I was thinking of getting the Nokia E72 before but chose to get this 9700 simply because it's a "Blackberry"

Hi, I am using Blackberry 9700 since last couple of month. I bought this phone from USA through AT&T and unlocked with them.

I was using this phone in India and was working absolutely fine.

Right now I am in Australia and since I am here I am facing unusual problem with this phone. I have contacts saved in my phone but when I insert my Australian SIM its not read name of incoming no. I mean if I have contact save in my mobile for particular person and if he/she calls me then it should show me the name of person.

But it just shows me no and because of that its very difficult for me to recognize who is calling me.

Someone advice me that replace the new SIM. So I went to Optus store and bought replacement SIM but still problem hasn't solve.

Finally I took the back-up of all my contacts through Blackberry Desktop Manager and the deleted each and every contact manually and then again Synchronize all the contacts to phone and still problem hasn't resolve.

Can someone advice how can I resolve this issue?

One more question Is there any way that I can select all the contact in one go and copy it to SIM. I have observe that Blackberry doesn't have luxury to select all contact. If u want to copy any contact into SIM memory then u have to select each contact individually and edit and save it.

Appreciate it if someone can guide me.

I'm sure as a Blackberry Bold 9700 user you also experience the frustration of having a very small internal memory.

Is there an existing work around to install applications using the external memory or is it really the way it is?

I only have 69MB left on my phone.

I've been using this phone for almost three months now.
This is a great phone, all I wanted are all here.
Social Media: Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Foursquare et al.
                                      IM: BBM, YM, GTalk...
Email: BB email, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Gmail
Camera: For a smart phone, a 3.2mp camera/video recorder is fair enough
                                      Voice Dialing is great!
Themes: Tons of themes to install from any trusted sites. (I have the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Themes now.)
                                      Calling: Quality is great!
                                      Texting: Threaded messages is great!
MS Office: You can download attachments from your email and view/edit it using this phone.
Trackpad: it's very cool and responsive.
Music: Although i dont listen to music a lot using this phone because i have my iPod, the volume is also fair enough.
App World: Applications are very limited unlike Android and Apple but since this is a smart phone, I am not gonna use this to just play some useless and time consuming games. I just hope there's a Wikipedia app.

WiFi: Internet is really fast which will still depend on your connection and browser. I use "Bolt" app browser when connected to WiFi, it's fast!
YouTube: Yes, you can watch YouTube videos here. Cool eh? (I use Bolt when accessing YouTube)

Battery Life: Since my Data Signal is always "ON" the whole day and I keep on updating my Twitter and FB page, I charge the battery everyday. It really depends on how you use it. But if I don't use the data that often, my battery stays for two days.

Restarting/Log/Freezes: Once in a while my BB freezes when there are lots of applications running, worse is, it'll restart when it cannot carry that much load. I think it's just normal because even computers get tired. So, what i am doing now is I limit the number of applications running at the same time.

So far, it is a great phone.
If you are into games and all that stuff, do not buy this phone. You will be disappointed.
