this is a cool phone. i have used NOKIA N70 as my first highend phone, then switched to N95, then E71 and now BB bold 9700! i would say performance is much better than any NOKIA product, at least if I compare battery life, reception, audio, display and all over the build quality. i will recommend my friends to buy this phone!

I'd been wanting to get either this or 3GS. It's my first time to get BB phone if ever but before I do so, I want something cleared first. It's about BIS plan. We don't have BIS plan yet in our country. Now, if you don't subscribe for a BIS plan, is it true that you CANNOT send/receive e-mails or have instant messaging (i.e. YMessenger) on the phone? OR is it only referring on the up to the minute e-mail service (same like PUSH e-mail) that WILL NOT be available if you don't have BIS plan? Say you'll just surf the internet or open your e-mail on a regular internet browser like opera mobile or internet explorer, is it still possible or not? I hope I'm making a point here and not sounding too dumb, I'm just not sure what this BIS plan is.. I'd appreciate anyone's help, thanks...

Thinking about purchasing the phone this week. I will see how it goes. Been weighing this against the Apple iPhone 3gs so we shall see.

Chalak Lomdi, 30 Dec 2009Why Blackberry does not support frame based website...anybody?Coz Frame based sites are very 1996. A proper website really shouldn't use frames.

Ash, 30 Dec 20099700 is with buttons, Storm 2 is Touch.. depends which one ... moreI love the bigger screen of Storm 2. I had 8900 before so I'm more reclined on Storm 2 for a change. And more people have 9700 so I think Storm will be more unique. Where in the world can't I use Storm 2? Its a CDMA handset and only 1 band 3G.

i've had it since thanksgiving and i am truely amazed how great it is.it does everything a smart phone should do and in my opinion better.videos are picture perfect, music is crystal clear and i even listen to sreaming radio which im from ny,is the best cause i have so many stations to listen to.pictures, email, texting all simple and easy to do on 9700.the greatest thing by far is that i tethered my bb to my computer and so i stay online where ever i go!!! this phone is the best bb out until the next generation black berry, which i will buy when it comes!
