Blackberrian, since us eem to be an expert, acn u pls answer my questions:

        Guys help:

1-When I have a missed called, the LED flashing does not repeatedly flash until I view the missed call; is this the case with this phone? I tried all settings but there isn’t anything. Therefore, I can’t tell if I have a missed call or not!

2- Same issue with SMS, however the LED flashing goes on for a while then stops. Any way to set it to keep LED flashing till I read message?

Phone is usually on Dim; so if I don’t have the phone with me for a while, i have no indication after getting it that i have a missed call or a sms, unless I actually check!

        Help pls.

Hi, i really don't know which one to buy between 8520 (Gemini) and 8900 (Curve). Since 8900 Curve is an evolution of the curve series, don't know which one to go for. Though, Gemini is the latest, which is good but, the camera is way too low 2.0 mp, in this era of 5/8/12 mp. Even, my Samsung S8300 camera is 8 MP. compared with the Gemini 2.0. Although, Gemini & 8900 are both feminine. which one should i go for.... somebody pls, advice on what to do.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2010i need a unbiased opinion on this question blackkberry h... moreThe main difference is the resolution: Gemini has 320x240 (standard screen res for most phones) and the bold has 480x360 which means that more pixels fit inside the screen, creating a nicer, clearer view of pics and texts. The amount of colors (65k,256k,16m) really only matter when viewing things like a picture with different gradients of a color. Example, a light blue turning to darker blue. You'll notice little waves or blocks of colors when you have less colors in your screen. Or when something is exposed under bright light, like the sun. You'll see the picture get spots of washed out colors. Normally you wouldn't notice this between a 256k vs 16m screen, but its easier to notice on a 65k color screen. I honestly think that the Gemini's screen is brighter and easier to read under sunlight compared to a Nokia N95. But the pictures are nicer on a Bold.

i need a unbiased opinion on this question

blackkberry has 65k colour screen, while other phone manufacturers have 16 million, blackberry curve 8520 has 65k and the quality is not really good, but bold 9700 is 65k and has a really good screen quality, is it not logical the more colours the better? or am i missing something here?

would really like a unbiased and factual answer please, thanks.

Samyt, 20 Feb 2010Can anyone tell me if BB8900 is a higher end phone or BB852... moreOfficially, the 8900 was the updated/modernized/make-over to the Curve series. From 8300 to 8900. The 8500 series is in the middle, more of an upgrade for price. The 8500 is newer, trackpad instead of ball, but lacks 3 main details to be considered higher-end. Screen res (360x240, a common res for screens from other companies but was used since like 2007) against 480x360 I think from the 8900. Nicer clarity for picture details and text. I thought that it wasn't a big deal, but when I saw the screen of the Bold next to my Gemini, I realized it does look nicer. The second, camera resolution. 2 mp is way to little for a camera phone, but then again, this isn't one. The 8900 has 3.2 mp and is a better resolution to be using in this era of 5/8/12 mpx cameras. 2 mpx is ok for email and mms but nothing to brag about, although in good lighting, the camera is awesome. And the 3rd, and probably the most controversial, flash and autofocus. Depends on your usage, really. I miss autofocus and flash because my n85 had a great camera and the flash was helpful. My friend's Bold 9000 and my mom's 8350i both have 2mp with flash and it really helps. That was a loss if you "upgrade" from a 8300 series phone. But other than those 3 details, the 8900 and 8500 are the same. And the 8520 lacks gps, but the 8530 doesn't, but that is a matter of your preference of carrier (gsm or cdma). Hope this is clear enough!
