Hi, I know this phone doesn't have GPS, but I have a customer who wants to know about coordinates. Will the phoen be able to tell you what your position is, like the longitude and lattitude?

who are you fooling guys the kind of softwares available for nokia is insane you can use skype for free calling , blackberry cant even use the wifi for that and that just sucks email on nokia messaging is pretty good and you can get ten email accounts
again no skype and gps are a big downer on this blackberry its just good as a standard mailing and im device for which you have to buy blackberry services from your provider . on the other hand the nokia e71 works with any data plan and yes i would say again hassle free over free wifi too , which is a big problem setting up on blackberries because of the security standards and its a pain in the a**
moreover the battery backup on nokia is more than four times this blacberry with its much higher capacity battery
oh yeah and did i tell you side by side nokia e71 looks a million times better than this cheap plastic b.b .... metal all the way lol
i am not complaining because i have one b.b 8520 issued from work but but use the e71 on my personal line and as a navigation device and to make free calls over wifi to my friends overseas :)
hope this helps people deciding between the two phones post up queries and i will surely try

How is the Curve 8520 compared to the Javlien? It is a better phone to have? Can you order using Skype?

Hi, I've been fortunate enough to be be using this handset for almost a month now, and I am impressed. I started using the 8310 curve and then moved onto the 9000 Bold. This does not compare with the Bold in terms of internet speed and is a bit sad that it doesn't have a flash and GPS, but ass an entry level handset I am blown away. if you have the opportunity to get one then my advise would be to do!!

Hi there,
Are there Skype application available for 8520 Curve.
It is availavle for E71 and having WiFi helps a lot for oversease cals and when you are overseas using the Free WiFi spots (everywhere in Europe) to call cheap home.

For someone who doesn't give a toss about GPS & just wants a phone with a Qwerty keyboard & internet access, is this a good choice?

Hi guys
i am looking for a new phone. i want to find out if the nokia 5800 xpressmusic with fully spec'd model can compare to the blackberry 8520. The 5800 has gps, 3g, hsdpa etc. The 8520 has none of these. Its only plus is the internet service. Do you think the blackberry is worth the trade off or should i just go with the 5800?

with this spec bettr the price must lower than 8900(rm1599-min)
if higr than that sure bettr i use 8707v.

Maybe u should return to the mobile carrier so they can check it out!

Vin, 31 Aug 2009Guys (& Gals - lest someone thinks this is a biased forum) ... moreHi Vin.The 8520 does have an app to view & EDIT Word, Excel & Powerpoint...no app to view pdf files...have to get an app.the app for Word, Excel & Powerpoint is not so easy on the eye...not the same like the actual Office applications.got my 8520 yesterday.i just love the trackpad.
