liz, 21 Aug 2009hey there. i need your advice... i cant make up my mind ... moreIf you're picking up your first BlackBerry ever, then get this, if you have used one before, then get the 8900. If you're still unsure, go to your network operator and ask to try out both models, afterwards, you can pick the one that suits you best.

Yesterday, I went to a mobile store to buy a Blackberry 8520. But, I had to come back empty handed because, the phone is locked with Airtel and has an Airtel logo just below the keypad which makes the phone look like a demo phone. Now, I am a Vodafone customer and I will never want to move to Airtel just to buy a phone. I am sure there must have been a thousand people like me which would have dropped their idea of buying this phone because of this branding and locking. I think I will continue using my IPhone for sometime now.

Anyone else had any such experiences?

Major diffs bw 8520 n 8900 are that 8900 has better camera with 3.15 mp than 8520 which has 2mp. battery life of 8900 is 1400 and 8520 is 1150. otherwise ram is same 256mb and cpu procssr is also same 512mhz.
But 8520 has optical trackpad and dedicated music keys which is cool.. depends on wat u prefer.. otherwise both are good!
                              Blackberry rocks!!!!!!!!

Re use of bolt ons - in the UK you can use BB on PAYG but only through Orange or TMobile.
