i really love the blacberry service. in fact, i never went back to any other phone model since i first tried them two years ago. but their phones' operating system is always buggy, especially the one on the bold. i just got hold of the new curve 8900 last friday and it's already showing much of the same glitches. the 8800 was ok, and the 8300 was great except for some minor hiccups, again, on their os. also, rim should also watch out for quality problems. the new models are not as tough as the 7000 and 6000 series anymore.

I ordered my 8900, and it arrived today. I'm at work now but I can't wait to open that box, anyway I have currently on a G1, its a pretty cool phone but no video capture, and the camera is really slow its like a 10 second delay to capture a picture. The G1 is 3G , and I have a friend that has a phone with Edge. We raced the internet connections to see which was faster. honestly the 3G was about 2-3 seconds faster. Then we raced the our phones wi-fi connection and they were even. 3G is cool, but it drains battery life quickly. I mean while web browsing ur lucky to get 3hours, and if you have 3G make sure you keep a charger on Deck lol ...

Anonymous, 04 Mar 2009I totally agree. Why NO review??For some reason, GSM Arena doesn't review BlackBerry phones. Beggars belief, if you ask me.

i work with phones and have now got the 8900, now apart from having no 3G this is probably one of the smoothist running phones ive had its got a high screes rez than the bold and works well with facebook i can undrestand if its not liked by everyone but for my life style and the younger genaration its the perfect phone, also the 3.2 camera and flash are both quite empressive :D

This is a truly amazing phone. I never really thought I'd own a Blackberry they seemed like they just weren't stylish enough and lacked the multimedia abilities that I like. However this isn't the case with the Curve 8900. This phone is very fast considering it lacks 3G. However this phone that i tested and the people at T-Mobile tested showed that its on par with most of the 3G enabled phones out there and this is only on the EDGE system. The Wi-Fi is so simple to set up and seamlessly connects and changes modes without a hitch. The speaker is outstanding this between this and the Blackberry Bold 9000 both are very loud however it seems like the 8900 has a small ammount of distortion, but then that could just me how I'm hearing it. You don't miss calls with this phone, unless you're in a very loud area. A 3.2 Megapixle camrea is begining to become out of date but it still performs nicely for every day shots and the LED flash is very bright. It took me a lil while to get used to it because this is my first PDA phone but its one I'll keep for a very long time. All in all this is a very good device that won't dissapoint. The phone hardware and a few added applications, make this one of the best phones out there. It dose lack 3G, but unless you honestly need that extra second or two it won't dissapoint. Its a very stylish device and excellent performer. And for everything its able to do and the speeds it dose it in, the price ain't half bad either.

Check PHONEARENA.COM They come with it quick.....I find them a little better than GSM...also look at Infosync World....For reviews of people that actually own the phone, the best source is PHONESCOOP.

One of the best phones that i ever used. It's like the bold, but better. Looks better, smaller keypad, and the battery dosn't heat up. The bold had a recall in japan. Cause the battery heated up. So i am pretty sure that there will be a recall on the bold's battery. Overall, this phone is better then the bold, better camera, the screen is better, and its smaller. Everything that you need. Big deal if you dont have 3G. Most blackberry users, check email and open office Documents. Just remember this, Blackberry's are for Bizz people. At the end of the day, this phone will do the job, and much more then you need.
Had mine for 2 months and its great. Had the Bold for 6 months. The 8900 is much better then the bold. Try it yourself in the store if you can.

Weedy processor, small screen, even smaller keys, no 3G, out of date camera. Look at the specs of all BB's and each has one or more deficiencies deliberately built in.
