I have read several comments on here about the bluetooth with the Pearl. I have had my Pearl since the day it came and and am using a scala headset with it. Never a problem, ever.

I just got my Pearl about a week ago and I love it. Just to answer a few questions...no you cant edit word documents or excel spread sheets. Its an amazing phone that I love to sell. Its worth the price and a huge improvement on past blackberrys.

to answer someones question on the pearl you can view word, excel and pdf but not edit. also you can only play .mp4 or .3gp file extensions. avi, mpg and wmv do not work.

8100 is great phone and email device, the only downfall is the media aspect. There is lag when playing mp3s, a major lag when playing videos over 1 meg, interface of the media player could be better and the camera's flash is very poor. Like I said these are media features. But as a phone it works great. Good voice quality, good reception and decent battery life.

I just went in store to have a look at the Pearl as I am very keen on getting it, but I couldn't find any Voice Memo options on it. Does anyone know if the Pearl has voice memo capability?
(As in make a voice note, save and retrieve later)

                    Hi
Is the Pearl able to view or edit Word, Excel and PDF files?

I have read that on 8700 you cannot create a new email and attach a document. You can only send an attachment by forwarding an email with an attachment.

Does anyone know how this can be done on 8100 pearl? As in my work I would find the camera useful.

hi, can someone tell me about the calling quality. Can you hear the person's voice loud & clear or is it a weak point in this phone?

                        thanks

I have owned the Blackberry 7100, 7105, and numerous other phones. The 8100 Pearl is a dream come true. The features are state of the art. If your in the market for a phone this phone has Camera, Photo caller I.D., Mapping Softwear, MP3 player, Video Player, great Voice Dailing, internet and email.

For those of you who are having the problem where when you make a call or receive a text and the persons name isnt coming up heres a fix! press the Green (Call) button, press menu and go to your options, then smart dialing and go to country code and select +44 (if your in the uk obviously) and it'll fix the problem!!!

blackberry is a very high security, planning, email, instant messaging device that runs on EDGE / EGPRS

this device does not have wifi

you must use your service providers data network if available

does anyone know if this device can be SAFELY unlocked yet?

you will have to go into media n choose ringtones, music, video, or picture folder

then while inside you must press blackberry logo button

                                  choose receive files from bluetooth

                                  crackberries are very high security

u must do it that way in order to transfer files

u must also pair the crackberry with your other device first
