        To be honest, all blackberry users purchase blackberries with the want of the satisfaction of the
        "wi-fi monkey" on ones back. Without a doubt, the phone looks like a beautifully crafted device, and with those
        specs, it should run smoothly, But one must admit that
        this phone with the option of wi-fi would be an gift from the gods.

              In Mexico the BB Bold is sell by Telcel and comes with WIFI but really... you dont need it since the BB plans let you surf even Youtube with no problems and extra costs... its a beautifull thing!! Every body loves it. The only but I would give it´s the keyboard. In that matter I prefer the Nokia E71. So to everybody out there... is you need push mail, and all the perks.. the Blackberry is the way to go and Get over the WIFI!!

                Used the browser on the network and it loads quickly and is a great experience. Much better than previous blackberry browsers. A cursor is positioned about a cm above where you are touching the screen so its very precise. Its a nice touch.

                  i have one here with me at our call centre. lack of wi-fi is a bit of a sore point. afterall, we want our network to be used, not wi-fi. not having wi-fi will not harm it at all.

                  it is a beautifully crafted device and works amazingly well.

                  awesome phone

                    My comments regarding this phone's competitors and what they have, and what they lack compared to this device:

                    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

                    Apple iPhone

                    What it has over the Storm - APP Store. It's also the most beautiful phone in the market. The BEST for media, and it's got WiFi (not really a deal breaker). Safari browser (some people think it multi tasks because it can load multiple pages at once, even if it crashes when you try to).

                    What the Storm has over it - Not a true multi-tasking device. For those who lack the understanding of multi-tasking, it's when you have multiple programs running at the same time, and a simple Alt-Tab switches you from one thing, say copying and then pasting on to another page. Very useful for blogging on the go, or editing important emails. Tethering as well.

                    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

                    HTC Touch HD

                    What it has over the Storm - Much bigger screen real estate, and a higher megapixel count camera. Also, since it's an HTC device, we potentially are looking at ANDROID being released "unofficially" on it. Think about that!

                    What the Storm has over it - It's running Windows Mobile. LoL I'm sorry, but my experience with Windows Mobile have been awful. For this fact alone, I am discounting the Xperia, which is a huge dissappointment IMHO.

                    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

                    My biggest gripe, is that I need to find out if the Vodafone BIS network has all the service books for these applications to run, which they currently do on the O2 network quite beautifully:

                    * Yahoo! Messenger
                    * Windows Live Messenger
                    * Google Talk
                    * Push Email for Yahoo! and Google addresses
                    * Free Hotmail Connection (£15/$20 a year if you're on an iPhone or Symbian device)
                    * Calendar Wireless Push Sync with Google Calendar
                    * Push Email for Google Apps Domains (I get push email on my domains which are connected to Google! FOR FREE!)
                    * Facebook

                    For the reasons I listed above, the BlackBerry platform pretty much lays waste to the competition, in terms of real-time communication in the world today. They have the BIS, which pretty much is what makes these devices from RIM the best multi-tasking device out there for the moment. You won't even notice the minutes you save in a day sum up to around 30-60 minutes just by this alone.

                      i work for vodafone and i can tell you this device is the one to have, its so cool, i have had a go on a sample version for training, this wasnt the finished product in terms of the software but it ran beautifully. the handset has a really nice feel in your hand. I cant understand why everyone is banging on about wifi, because unless your at home on your wifi in in maccy d's where its free then i never use it as everyone has locks on them anyway. As your all aware this device is only available on voda in the uk and to get the best out of a blackberry then you need the email service applied and to have that you need the internet pack which is often included in the price plans and has unlimited usage. i think a big deal is being made of this wifi. Face book is cool on the device if someone adds comment to ur face book them it doesnt just alert you it automatically brings your facebook page up. The hi def screen is fantastic for music and the popple dome click screen works really well preventing the user making mistakes and sending the wrong person!!! i know its hard but just wait and try it out in a vodafone store on the 7th, oh how i hope that customers will pester o2 with "do you do the storm, oh is it just vodafone, will you get it, and why is that then that you dont" lol

                          you o realise that a blackberry is an email device so the camera is used for taking pictures then emailing. i work for a phone shop and blackberry cameras are probably the best arround as the camera is more centered around carity rather than mega pixels. anyway a touch screen blackberry would not work due to the complexity of the keyboard.

                                So disappointing... I hoped this could become a competition to HTC Touch HD or Samsung OMNIA, or atleast iPhone 3G and XPERIA X1... but no WiFi, no huge screen not the best camera... un whitch way this shuld become some ones choice? Iphone has a bigger and better screen and built in memory... the camera is just a bit worse, XPERIA has a qwerty... too bad it doest have 3,5mm jack, as this one does... OMNIA has better camera, and more storege... HTC Touch HD MUCH bigger screen with MUCH better resolution... and the camera is better...

                                And RAM of 128... come on...

                                  I for one, have no qualms with the device not having WiFi, although it's sad that even lesser tier phones have WiFi, and the BlackBerry Storm doesn't have it. ;(

                                  So much for the chance to view YouTube on the go eh?

                                  Well, now that we have that, in a way, the Storm still pushes forward what makes a BlackBerry, a BlackBerry, and that is being the ultimate messaging tool.

                                  We'll have to wait and see if the device pushes through to be a win or not.

                                    I spoke to a vodafone employee today, they told me the Blackberry Storm would be released on the 7th of November.

                                    THIS PHONE WILL NOT FEATURE WIFI.
                                    Regardless of what else you hear online!

                                    I know someone who works in tech for Vodafone, and the reason the phone will not feature WiFi, is because Vodafone wanted wifi removed as 9 million was previously spent upgrading the network in the UK. They want users on the network and not on their own routers. You will still have fast internet access via 3G.

                                    Another problem is the camera, 3.2 mega pixel camera, when my current phone is 5.0 mega pixels.

                                    This phone still has some amazing features, Touchscreen, Great Look, Good mp3 Player, Up to 8gb of memory, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate,

                                    And to answer a common quesion:
                                    The 9500 - European version, exclusive to Vodafone. The 9530 - American version, exclusive to Verizon.

                                    I do agree though - not having WiFi is a huge mistake, that will ultimately sore vodafone sales. I've seen hundreads of messages elsewhere, with would-be buyers, until they discover the lack of the WiFi feature.
