I have the set for 3 weeks now. Let me tell you guys what to expect. i think the screen use a lot of the battery. the battery turn half in like 2-3 hours. I AM NOT JOKING. i do play with it like few minutes every 30 minutes.
In comparison to a BOLD 9700 that i have been using the battery is 1/3 of the bold lifespan.
the OS does lag. We need to give them some time. i think the OS is still undergoing some potential improvement. many app will coz the phone to hang. It may be because of he new OS. ( I suspect )
The app memory is only 512mb. that is STUPID. the ringer volume is not too great. bit soft.
it is a very nice looking phone and it does need some time. the language support is still very limited. I think only 2 language. No chinese yet.
So no rush guys!!! the once that can't wait will need to bear with it for a while. I am sure it will be a good phone to have in 6 months time.

I called to RIM Canada and complaind about my phone but they said : If you're always connected chat and mail, well don't ever expect more than a day!

SALT AND PEPPER, 21 Sep 2010the blackberry battery is bad regardless i use the 9700 and... morei have blackberry curve 8520 and batterey is amazing over 3days before bat goes dead, which is impressive these days for phones! you must not have charged the battery correctly on first use!

I had a go on one today, faster than galaxy, easier than iphone, feels solid. Currently using iPhone, Nokia N900, 9700 Bold and 9300 Curve but this Torch 9800 is amazing, slick OS. I'm gonna eBay 3 of the above phones and upgrade to this bad boy!

Hello all, i'm about to buy this cel and i wanna know about the battery life... I've been using the curve 8520 but my battery lasts just 1 day maybe cuz i'm a hard bbm user. So please help me, should i get the Torch?? I'm about to stick a two years plan with the device

the blackberry battery is bad regardless i use the 9700 and after using the 9000 i thought thy wud improve on the life batt but the more speed they insert into the device for data usage n all the worse batt life they give

Bought one last week. Being a Blackberry user before I personally find that BB Torch is a fantastic phone especially for those 50+ where you can see better as the frame is bigger compared to 9700 or 9000.
It has the choice of touch screen or qwartery button that BB users are familiar with. For professional who frequently use most of the phone for calling, smses and emails and once a while media this Torch is a great phone. It's camera of 5 megapixel produces sharp pictures.
One drawback is if you connects to bluetooth , the battery runs out fast. RIM need to improvised the battery usage time.
Overall this phone is great for professional and those who are 50+ as this Torch is no longer strain to eyes sight.
