After looking through my drawer of old smartphones the only reason I keep buying more is the battery stops holding a charge. I just got a new phone but when that ones starts losing its charge and I need to replace it my next phone will have to have a replaceable battery. So it looks like my next phone will be a Fairphone either the 6 or the 7.

justasmile, 21 Nov 2023The same way as how Fairphone sell you lies to tell people. You can try selling your nonsense here on the forum, sorry but we don't buy it. We know better. You are clearly not in the Fairphone community. If you were, you'd know better and you could actually learn a thing or two.

This is a great phone:
Good screen
Good cameras
AOD
Long support
The phone feels good in hand and not that heavy even it is more than 200gr it feels just not heavy. It is a bit thick though.
No charger in the box but use the old charger from previous phone so not a problem with USB C. Also plenty fast enough so i don't understand the complaining about the chip set.
It is expensive but very much worth it is a very good phone the most sustainable phone in the world. So worth the price because also good and very long software support and 5 years warranty. Also you can send back your old phone so they will recycle the phone for you.
After all this phone is recommendable I am happy with it.

Yes, 700 does seem a lot, but its probably the realistic price for tech these days. The reason we get such cheap phones is due to questionable practices!!

Their 8-10 years of updates are most likely for just making money. With mid range specs like this, it cannot even last 8 years before starting to lag like hell.

Can you replace a broken screen with a new one with only a screwdriver? Can you replace any parts of those phones without having your phone locking you out because "those parts aren't original"? Can you get those parts for cheap? Does the phone have an unlocked bootloader which you can switch to one of the many distros there are out there? Can you do ANY of those things with the average phone? I don't think you can.

8 years is overkill for a poorly-specced phone. People would basically switch phones in 3-5 years, not 8 years.
