This 4a is my work and experiment all phone. And being wary of the problems due to custom ROM things, I never root it till software support stops for the phone from the OEM. So till Aug 2023 I am going to use this 4a as it is. Only after that I will root and install custom ROM. Probably I will do this in 2024. I do not have any financial app on this phone. Hence, I am least worried about it. And I will wait till Aug 2023 to check who sells off 4a. I may then buy one more handset and experiment with it.

I‘ve had issues of phones not booting anymore, Google play services not working suddenly etc. Sure for a phone to play around with, it‘s completely okay as you can just reinstall TWRP and a new custom ROM. But on a main phone, I would not want stuff like that to happen.

I got this one last week.
I know that this will not be supported after August 2023. But I am thinking of using it by installing custom ROM.

Worst phone ever, bad quality build, bad camera, bad processor, and heating issues in video recording, video turns off while recording upto 2 to 3 minutes in 1080p 30 fps. I would not recommend to buy this. Go for Google Pixel 4, 4xl, 6, 6 pro and 6a and 7 series.

Unbelievable. My 4a just randomly decided one day that I was using the wrong PIN to unlock the phone. I didn't change it. MANY people have had this problem. What a piece of shit. So then I attempted to fix the problem, and there is no fix. The process calls for 2-step verification, which includes a text message that I cannot get to because Google already suggested doing a factory reset. So the second option is a "Recovery" process through my Gmail account. They send me an email, which I confirm, to which they reply, "Okay, we'll email you in 24 hours to confirm it's you." I cannot get on my phone -- MYYYYYYYY PHONE!!!!! -- for 24 hours. This is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD in a technological generation. Clearly Google doesn't care. They don't even have phone support available on the weekend to unlock my phone. Zero service. Mindboggling.

I bought a Pixel 4a Nov 2020. It has a good camera and decent battery life. It hasn't had any problems. I won't hesitate to buy an equivalent one when the 4a is no longer supported.

I bought Pixel 4a since last year September, it's of no use to me. No sound is coming out of the phone. I can't make calls, no ring tone sound, just only vibration. The speaker of the phone is not working and it is a software problem. I updated the OS to latest version Android 13 hoping the issue would be solve.. it works once and stopped working. I kept it in the carton waiting for the next update... my advice.. stay away from PIXEL 4A!!!
