I'm upgrading from Sony Xperia XA Ultra, I'm not a heavy user, all that I care about is a good camera, good battery, and support for Google apps. Is this phone recommended?

Best small sized and relatively high performance android smartphone yet. Except gaming, if you need a small phone this is the only option.

And since you can sideload GCam for other non-Pixel phones with snapdragon processors, and with 3 year software updates becoming the norm in other major android manufacturers, there's absolutely ZERO reason why anyone should support Google's greed by buying Pixel phones that don't even have micro SD storage, no headphone jack so you buy overpriced Pixel buds, a phone that intentionally disables wired screen sharing even if the hardware is capable, intentionally disables Miracast (wireless screen sharing) so you'll buy a chromecast and be connected to wifi before you can do wireless screen share so Google can monitor your viewing and browsing habits and sell you movies/music/tv subscriptions, disabling in android 11, more customization options that restrict what third party launchers and apps can do, etc.

There's also the people who like stock android along with regular monthly updates.

Qwerty , 19 Jan 2021Couldn’t agree more LOL People who buy stuff because of the... moretbh i think that depends, usually people just want a phone that will fulfill their needs and be reasonably priced. if they want a phone with a good camera, they will get something like a pixel, or an iphone, or a samsung or anything really. same goes for every other part of the phone. duraility, screen, multitasking, backup phone, long battery life etc.

Pixiel is so over rated among Americans
The only thing stands out is camera (according to you tubers)
The spec is mid-range
And price is slightly higher for mid.

I don't know why you people are complaining about Google pixel when it is just a new brand with interesting upgrade in times of camera, it may be hard to believe that google pixel 5 is far far better than iphone and Samsung..... Pls you people should stop complaining about Google pixel, they started about 4 yrs ago and have high quality specs like that of the iphone and Samsung..
