Does anyone know if its safe to use a 5v charger with the phone instead of the 9v quick charger that comes with the phone when purchased new?

I installed oreo with hurupdater and it was very easy to do. It works fine so far.

I got this phone from BestBuy almost 2 yrs ago on sale. It works great, love the camera features and quality. I also love the IR blaster in it so I can control TVs, DVD-Blue players, surround sound system etc. The Kirin 950 chipset is much better than expected. CPU is fast and snappy for most apps, however the GPU is the weaker spot here... but you can still play many games on medium-high settings just not all of them. Plenty of RAM and I could add a SD card for more space easily. I can run chrome with 50+ tabs no problem! I also got a transparent case, the phone looks very nice but the class cover can get scratched easily. Overall good phone, worth the money I got it for.

I got FRD-L09 and my gyroscope has big problems. Image goes nuts when i try to see 360 videos. Anyone else experiencing these symptoms?

Olle, 16 Jun 2018I discovered that I still have the problem with the screen ... moreI have heard that this might be an EMUI 5.x bug. Have you tried switching launchers away from the decision to something like Nova to see if this helps at all?

Sorry to hear that your problem still persists. I now use a Oneplus 5T. As soon as I connected it to WiFi it downloaded Android v8.1.0 and the May 2018 security level update. The phone itself is a real powerhouse and I can't see myself changing it for along time yet. It's just a shame that Huawei have such a poor record on updating their phones.

The auto brightness actually seems to work as it should (when box is checked). It dims down the screen when the surrounding light is low and stays high when when under light conditions. When the box is unchecked it dims down under all light conditions. So I am still stuck with it. I can't choose the brightness I want manually. By the way, what phone do you use now when you have stopped using the Honor 8?
