Honor 8 Pro finally gets Android Pie-based EMUI 9 stable update
The Honor 8 Pro that debuted back in March 2017 with Android Nougat-based EMUI 5.1 is receiving the much-awaited Android Pie-based EMUI 9 update.
The update is currently rolling out in India with build number 9.0.1.163(C675E6R1P5). It weighs a whopping 3.49GB in size, but those who are enrolled in the beta program get a smaller file weighing just over 340MB.
This EMUI 9 update brings simplified UI, AI object recognition, Huawei Share 3.0, faster app launch times, and ViLTE support to the Honor 8 Pro. It also brings along Android security patch that's dated March 1, 2019. You can check out the entire changelog below.
This update is rolling out over-the-air and should reach all the Honor 8 Pro Indian units in a week or two. But, if you can't wait, you can check for it manually by heading over to your phone's Settings > About Phone > System update menu.
If you happen to live in another country and have received the EMUI 9 update on your Honor 8 Pro, drop us a comment below.
