Samsung s23 phones still uses 8 bit display in 2023. I don't care how bright it can get, buying another 8 bit display phone when i already use one (poco f3) is a big NO NO for me. Nevertheless, i don't like magic 5 pro. Magic 5 ultra with better zoom should be ideal. Also patiently waiting for Google pixel 8 pro.

    From my understanding, there going to release the Honor magic 5/Pro with a global version. They come with the Google Phone Dialer app, Google text messaging app, and Google Contacts app. Is there a way to install the chinese version of their Dialer app, text messaging app, and contacts app, onto the global version for Honor magic 5/pro. Thanks

They are noise free in lowlight whilst still maintaining excellent detail. However, the video quality doesn't look great in the video compare tool. Video has always been Honor's weak spot.           Not everyone cares about software updates either. Sure it's nice if a brand is fast with pushing updates, but personally I don't really care.
          Please show me on the doll where dxoMark hurt you. Other than "Samsung is not ranked first in everything so I hate DXOMark" lmao funny guy.

Good for you I guess, if you try to convince yourself this Honor is the best and that Dxomark is reliable go for it, despite knowing deeply it isn't and that there are already comparisons showing it's not the best (it's one of the best though) but neither the best as Dxo claims. Yup there are lots of articles that prove Dxo gets money to boost up certain brands (especially Huawei/Honor) and even DXO TOS say they receive payments for doing their reviews.

            Also, it's not like Dxomark is the Holy Grial and their opinion is not worthy more than another site's opinion. But for example this Honor has been already proven that's not the best in 1. main camera 2. zoom / telephoto 3. video recording 4. night camera 5. selfie so at most it's the best in UW camera. Like I've said enjoy your purchase but you won't get the best phone in anything except for UW camera. Even the new 5450 battery is going just for China. That back cover has also the trashiest design of all smartphones, it's uglier than anything else.

            People who bought Honor Magic 4 Pro in April 2022 still have Android 12 in March 2023 so while even the 700€ OnePlus 11 by 4T 2023 the Honor Magic 5 Pro will still have Android 13 and it will barely have Android 14 at very best 6 months later, given the fact the Magic 4 Pro has already 11 months and it has received 0 updates as of today. if you agree with the fact that you will get Android 14 even after a trashy 200€ Scamdung A33 low-mid range then you should be fine. :D

              By hook or crook this will be my next phone it just makes sense. More than good enough camera: check, great screen: check, ultrasonic finger print reader AND 3D face unlock: check, IR blaster: check, APTX adaptive Bluetooth codec: check, Snapdragon 8 gen 2: check, decent battery capacity: check and the list goes on. Honestly I can't wait

                    Real life reviews and comparisons tell 1000 times more than Dxoscam which makes paid reviews as it's even stated in Android Authority and Android Central. Someone putting a comparison video that has 20k subscribers is not MKBHD type of thing so stop with these rants.

                    According to Dxoscam, the Vivo X90 Pro+ is not even a top 10 camera. Do you agree with that? Because if you agree with #1 you must agree with #12 as well. It's not that you only have to agree with what fits you the best. Huh??

                        I've seen a couple of comparisons and the camera is very good but definetly not the best and #1 like Dxomark said with their paid review... it has some weak points like video recording and some HDR pics have strange artifacts. Selfie camera is neither top tier. The screen is neither the best, resolution is FHD+ and BOE screens are not that good. The only pro is the dimming but the double hole removes a lot of useful screen space and it makes very to watch content with a huge black hole in the left side... also the new battery technology is only used in China. Why it's not in the Global version?

                        Also once you start a video, you can't switch between the back cameras... I was expecting more from this phone, given the fact is very similar to Honor Magic 4 Pro I've expected more improvements, charging speed even down went from 100W to 65W wired and 100W to 50W wireless. I fear for the support this Honor will have given the fact the Honor Magic 4 Pro is still running Android 12 and that for a 1.200€ flagship is completely not acceptable. I won't buy this phone.

                          Anonymous, 06 Mar 2023The S23 Ultra has actually 32-bit audio recording and playb... moreour ears just aren’t that sensitive, so your ears could never tell the difference between, 24bit and 32bit just can’t hear anything above 16kHz If your hearing can’t reach anything higher than 22.05kHz, then the 44.1kHz file can handily outresolve the range of frequencies you can hear,it means that there is no difference in sound quality for our ears whether it is 24 or 32bit

                            I like it has rounded edge it feels comfy and easier to hold than s ultra...wish the curve is even more flatter though

                              Super Android 22, 06 Mar 2023Better screen, nope (at best its a tie except samsungs scre... moreThe S23 Ultra has actually 32-bit audio recording and playback (the S23 Ultra speakers can play up to 32-bit 384kHz while the Magic 5 Pro remains at 24-bit 192kHz) other than that it truly has USB 3.2 unlike this Honor, also with direct DP support but doesn't make too much sense having Wireless DeX capabilities.

                              The problem with Honor is that their support is very weak, as of 6th March 2023 the Honor Magic 4 Pro is still with Android 12 while even 200$ Samsung midranges got Android 13 and the premium phones got it 5-6 months ago, the design is subjective but that back cover is the ugliest design I have ever seen.

                              I agree this phone is very good and as of March 2023 it's the only real rival the Samsung S23 Ultra has, as all of the other phones are way too weak to compare, like the Xiaomi 13 Pro with so many weak points. But it's a pity the optical zoom is still x3.5 it should be at least x5 and that Honor's support is basically zero as their 2022 flagship has still Android 12 but for the rest good phone, not worth the buck though but for 800-900€ looks like a good purchase for someone who doesn't want Samsung either for whatsoever reason.

                              Ben's gadgets just dropped the first real life comparison between the Samsung S23 Ultra and the Honor Magic 5 Pro and photography-wise it looks like a tie, it depends on someone's preferences to pick one over the another one. The Samsung wins in zoom (obviously as having x10 optical) and video-wise Samsung wins both with front and back cameras, but for the rest it's just personal preference.

                                A honest Huawei user, 05 Mar 2023Keep telling that to yourself, yet no matter how hard you s... moreBetter screen, nope (at best its a tie except samsungs screen aint doing 2160 pwm dimming), i dont think samsung can do 24 bit audio recording, quality of speakers we wont know till its actually released. Design is completely subjective, i love circular centred island, i think the galaxy phones since s20 have been disgusting (the s10 was the last good looking Samsung phone but again, thats purely an opinion).

                                Once the phone is actually released with actual public software on it then we can see if the camera and video quality is worse, its got theoretically better sensors in the magic 5. Also proper secure dual unlock features, the magic 5 is lighter and smaller yet has a bigger screen, has far better battery tech and materials with better charging, better gps postitioning/nfc features/certification, screen protection, theoretically both have usb 3.1 except magic 5 has DP input for monitors (i dont get why gsm give samsung usb 3.2 and everyone else 3.1 when a. SoCs support usb 3.1 gen 2 and b. 3.1 gen 2 and 3.2 gen 2 are essentially the same with same speed data transfer)

                                Also the magic 5 ultimate is coming out too with a few better upgrades vs the pro so in reality the only thing samsung has over the magic 5 is a stylus, ok, and 4 years software support (even though most people get the phones on 2 year contracts so defeats the purpose of wanting more than 3 years of updates and thats if the carrier pushes the updates out).

                                Also samsung has a budget probably 10 times that of honor (wasnt even its own company 10 years ago) and samsung have probably a minimum of 10 times the staff vs honor yet cant make a phone thats generations ahead but also cheaper than the competition (supposedly the magic5 ultimate is releasing for €900 which would less than s23 money, dunno if thats correct though).
                                Also the ultimate supposedly comes with usb C earbuds/headphones, samsung comes with a cable that doesnt work with a lot of chargers (specially ones that are a couple years old).

Being better in most face to face aspects, better screen, better audio, extremely better design as this is uglier than rotten meat, better video recording, zoom, selfie, much better software with real updates (Honor Magic 4 Pro from April 2022 is still with Android 12 in March 2023 while S22 Ultra got Android 13 in November 2022) and so on...

                                      Oh and Dxomark is good for you to make you dream but Ben's reviews just dropped the first real life camera comparison between Honor 5 Pro and Samsung S23 Ultra (Xiaomi 13 Pro in the same comparison as well) and the winner is the S23 Ultra and even the Xiaomi 13 Pro wins in some backgrounds. This Honor is far from what Huawei was one day... so not worth the buck, like it or not.

                                      95% of the comments from the comparison are saying they expected much more given DXO gave the Honor the 1st rank and it's obvious they're paid as it has been proven not only it doesn't have the best camera, that it underperforms as well. At the end of the day no 1" sensor so paid reviews won't hide the truth. The truth is shown with real life reviews.
