can you play divx format right outta box with froyo 2.2 on this one?
i know froyo enables desire to record at 720p so i guess it means you can do that huh?

Make a comparison in the market – it is still far better then so many new devices. I myself bought it this weekend to replace my previous phone as I was very much impressed by its performances and functionality.

I have 4 question:
1- Is there any app to make the notifications light flash for ever not stop after 5 or 10 minutes?
2- Does the bluetooth stop being discoverd after 120 seconds?
3- Where can I buy a white one?
4- Finally, is it too late to buy this great but not elegant phone?

even i did R&D fro almost 5 months... Finally bought desire.
Froyo -> best response n no lags at all
-> 720p recording
-> very good build
Bad things :
-> no equalizer for music
-> no swipe provided
-> widgets are much better than samsung !

Decided to buy this phone yesterday and I am greatly impressed with it.
I came from a HTC Hero and the desire is allot better all around, the camera is exceptional and the flash is really bright.
The speaker is louder but feels more tinny, the screen is really sharp clear and bright (S-LCD version).
Battery life is good so far but will reserve judgement after a few days.
The speed is really fast very responsive and fluid, flash 10 works fine and running on froyo 2.2.
All in all a great buy, well recommended!

To all dear brilliant smartphone user,
Christmas is around the corner, I wish to get a smartphone like Samsung Galaxy S or HTC Desire for myself. However after I did tones of search from the internet(website eg CNnet, gsm, techradar,...) & youtube too; and I found out these 2 phone (probably)are the best smartphone available in the market. Despite the smartphone manufacturer devoted their great effort and delivery their master piece to the consumer, the controversy of their final products still remained. SO I ASK, among these 2 smartphones which one do you guys think is good for my income Christmas present.

The phone is great EXCEPT is does not play DIVX or XVID movies! I can not install apps on my external memory card !?? 120 Mb is just not enough ! Does anyone know of some free app that could play Divx and Xvid movies.
