Is the Desire always connected to the internet? How much data does this take up if it is and can you turn it off?

Have you used the HTC Desire with the android software, I am too confused in between these two phones. I have my business running and i have my emails popping up in every 1 min. But HTC also can setup 5 email accounts. People say that web browsing is really bad in Blackberry, also its facebook app sucks big time as compared to HTC on android. I have not used anyone of them and i am really Blackberry OS ver. 6 or HTC Android ver 2.2, Which one should i buy ?

Mines ARMv7 and it never reboots itself.

I did thought that all Desires have snapdragons, but I was wrong.

Maybe you're running too many apps at once. You need advance task killer.

I had this phone with 2.2 Froyo LeeDroid for about month before switching the to the Galaxy S, here were my impressions of it:

              Pros:
-HTC Sense is very smooth and eye-pleasing, best UI by far imo
-the build quality is superb - very sturdy, the right amount of weight and size, great buttons
-the audio quality with the headphones on was great - very clear
-web browsing was amazingly and fast - no lag whatsoever
-the SLCD screen was okay, but Super AMOLED is a lot better

              Cons:
-the battery life was pretty bad - lasted about a day or so w/ just calls, texting and surfing
-the speakers were distorted, sound quality was poor and max volume was disappointing
-the touch screen wasn't very sensitive - this might be because of the screen protector I used...I often had to backspace or double tap again

Overall, it was a pretty good phone, would recommend it if you don't mind the cons.

I've had blackberry aswell ( 8900 ) but changed to HTC desire. I'm having the handset 1 week now and I'm very happy with it. It's imo alot better than my BB. To answer your question, yes the internet stays up, you can surf the net, minimize the internet, read mail, open internet again and you'll be where you left.

Biggest negative on this phone I encountered so far: Extremely small memory, I install all my apps on SD card but I'm still having issue's. And second point, battery is down after 1 day. Callibrated my battery 3 times so far but it's not working more than 1 day.

BB power management >>>>> android power management.

"Internal memory 576 MB RAM; 512 MB ROM "
What if any application is bigger than the above memory size ?
I think the above memory won’t be available all the time; may be some other application is already installed. Thus how its work?
My occupied a big amount of memory so how may I manage that. Is it possible to move email apps to memory card?

Many thanks if any one please let me know about the above mention issues.

I currently have a blackberry and im thinking about getting a HTC desire. When you go on the internet and close out to check a message, does it restart the internet or does it stay where you left it?
