I went for Desire, because of it is pocketable, has the excellent Sens UI, is cheaper, has camera flash, has a better and faster support from HTC rather than Samsung, and has a better build quality.

chethan, 10 Sep 2010HI ppl. i'm planning to buy a phone, n desire is my first p... moreI've got Desire for a few months, and I have not had any trouble with it. It is a reliable performer that takes care of the things I need.

Some phones are full of bugs that in the bast case manufacturers promise to fix later (Galaxy S, iphone 4, most of the Symbian phones, etc...).
Desire stands out as a very quality phone.

If you are using internet via Desire, you may consider to do that wireless. Since FW 2.2, Desire can be used as a WiFi hotspot.

        @ SS :

Thnx budy for your reply. Now thing is that, my cousin had came from Canada & bought Desire with Orange plan from there including 8GB card i.e. the Sim card & memory card which comes with plan is laid at his house in Canada b'coz during his trip to India (Sorry, I forget to told that I form India), I give him sim card from here. He is using my laptop & for using Internet thro' Desire, you need "HTC-Sync" software & software is in his Card left in Canada. Now problem is that, when we tried to install "HTC-Sync" from website, they required Item no., location etc. & his phone is from Canada with Orange plan. Can it got problematic to give location of India where phone is purchased from Canada ??

        Pls. reply imm.

        Thnx.

if you change the screen brightness it will work better under sunlight but it will reduce battery level sooner too...

super AMOLED is very good then SLCD, but the problem is:

the SLCD has good viewing in sunlight(before it was bad)
a excellent battery backup of SLCD the super AMOLED
                  more spread of light legibility
(it means it reflects much light for clear view instead of super AMOLED clucthing it in screen

come on dont compare satios symbion device with android

symbion just sucks and its so laggy so its not SE fault its the software symbion fault

so dont compare and judge xperia x10 by symbion buggy software

TC, 09 Sep 2010Desire has 576 mb RAM but only 137 mb of user avalable buil... moreMy desire has S-LCD and it's even better than AMOLED. It consumes less power too, don't believe me go read the GSMArena article about that. AMOLED only has better view angles. S-LCD is also better under sunlight. Besides, Desire supports 16M colors, while X10 only has 65k, and it's not for the Android version, it SE's official white paper it says 65k, you can download it in SE developer forum.
I'm not saying X10 is bad, what I'm saying is that htc has far better experience in making Android phones. Also, SE has bad software, I had a SE Satio before Desire and buggy software and terrible customer support was the reason to sell it and go for Desire.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2010i think thats a 5 months old story about a buggy xperia x10... more2.1 is still not as good as 2.2

Timescape and Mediascape isn't a true UI. It's just a interface for media. Sense UI on the other hand, is a true UI and is widely recognised as the best UI today.

128MB for apps, for the moment. Very soon, all applications will be able to be installed in the SD card itself.Developers will need to work on hard this though.

                            AMOLED vs LCD

I'm not sure about SE phones lately, but all my past experiences with SE phones are that they get very laggy and full of bugs after a period of usage, usually about 9 months to 1 year or so.

Your "do not care" points are not really valid. You do not care, but others do.

Yes, X10 has a much better camera. Aside from that, what else does X10 has to offer?

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2010i think thats a 5 months old story about a buggy xperia x10... moreDesire has 576 mb RAM but only 137 mb of user avalable built-in harddrive to install apps, X10 has only 384 mb RAM. New Desire today have Super-LCD NOT Amoled. FM-radio i considerad standard today and uses a lot less battery than listening to online-Internetradio while you work or... Multitouch is important when typing text because when you type fast the first finger does not always leave the screen before the secong finger touch the nest letter in your text, so fast-writing is impossible on X10. Different, Timescape, is not always better. X10 is not beautiful or comfortable! 2.1 is still far from as god as 2.2, for example no flash 10.1.

xperia x10 is different n unique n i guess would be even better with 2.1 n hd video recording

[deleted post]This is why htc Desire is better than XPERIA X10:
X10 still runs on Android 1.6, whike I just updated my Desire to official Android 2.2 ROM. X10 might not ever get ANdroid 2.2.
SE has a very bad support and bad buggy software. htc is far more advanced in that part.
Desire has 576 MB of RAM while X10 has only 384 MB.
