boom, 19 Apr 2010apparently you dont need an app killer to kill running apps... more"Apparently" being the important word...

I own a Desire and use Advanced Task Killer and find that my battery life was greatly extended when I started using this. When I first used it it killed something ridiculous like 15 apps. Are you really telling me Android needs 15 apps open? I don't think so.

iLHaN, 19 Apr 2010Who can advise which "Task manager" in the market... moreapparently you dont need an app killer to kill running apps, if you go on googles own android site, it explains that by killing apps the phones just got to reload them again which uses up more battery, the android system optimises and kills running apps that it doesnt need, dont install app killers, they are a waste of time and dont actually save any battery life.

Who can advise which "Task manager" in the market is the best??? (it must have combine a task killer (both manuel and automatic) and task switcher..
Really don't understand why these are not existing in the device natively..

Had mine a couple of days now and love the phone, only few minor points which actually relate to the Desire...
*battery life (really is bad compared to my old N79)
                  *video capture
*screen is set very low in chassis - from an angle this can make you press the wrong thing - unlike the iphone which has the screen very close to the top.
                  With andriod...
*app quality - I'm sure once google allow the SD for storage this will improve.
*requiring an app to end applications

All in all comparing with the iphone and factor in the price - I'm totally happy with this phone... well for 18 months at least :)

btw I was pleasently surprised just how small the phone actually is, the buttons are tiny! Also, found the optical pad handy for editing text

One more question on the DivX:

does it work even with a downloadable player. I ask, beacause it always says on the Desire that it does not support DivX. I am not a technician, but in my opinion, if it does not support, it does not work!

This is about desire and is related to typing messages too: http://www.vidoemo.com/yvideo.php?i=RlF4LU5ncWuRpMTNYQ2s&htc-desire-nexus-screen-problem

Until now I do not find any official information telling "this is only a software issue that will be fixed soon"... :(
I hope it becomes solved as soon as possible... :(

Joearny, 18 Apr 2010Screen Problem! Hi guys, once it has basically the same ... morethat might be a software problem (maybe even with the app itself) and perhaps it wont exist on the htc desire or maybe its just that particular nexus 1 unit that has the problem. but that shudnt matter for zooming with multitouch (basically the main use of multitouch on phones).
the app showed that even tho the fingers were not on the dots, as the fingers moved closer, the dots also moved closer. for zooming with multitouch, it only needs the distance between two points and how its changing, not necessarily the actual position.
if u plan on using multitouch for gaming tho, and that problem exists on the game app, u might hv difficulty playing the game. an instance wud be wen u hv 2 on-screen joysticks, one for moving around, the other for shooting in a direction (or something like that). i cant think of many games that do this and some of the ones i can think about, also allow u to move around with the accelerometer so u only need 1 finger on the screen at any 1 time.
