got my desire couple of days ago and the battery is terrible, ive had smartphones and my recent iphone and im lucky if i can get half out of this damn thing. even if i use it as a phone and leave everything off it wont last a full day without a charge. My sister has the X10 and the batttery life on that is fine so i think ill be going for a Sony, obviously the years of experience in creating phones paid off. sorry but im not a fan id give this phone 5 out of 10
anyone buying this phone be warned the battery is the worst of alsmot every smartphone out there, HTC need to adress this issue

i dont know why gsmarena doesnt mention bad camera quality and no lack of secondary camera in the main disadvantages of desire but mension lack of xenon flash(even with very good camera quality) and lack of secondary camera in the main disadvantages of x10!
gsmarena please tell the truth to people!

its good that desire has created desire on earth but i would want this phone with the dimensions of sony Ericsson vivaz pro and at the same time it should retain its specifications

Yes but you can't get a camera that makes calls, has wifi, 3G, massive 4 inch display slim device compared to camera, mp3 player, GPS, 1ghz snapdragon,135gm, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Timescape/Mediascape UI, Scratch-resistant surface, Send messages, digital compass, cameras don't come in white as far as i know, Have android 1.6, play MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV/
MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV the lists goes on!!!!! I would rather buy any smartphone than a camera, I have a mind that thinks about the future when it buys stuff, in the future i would guess that we would have 3 main screens for 1 person, small - mobile phone, medium- tablet pc, big - TV. but the only thing is, is that a pc will always be more powerful than any smartphone or tablet because its bigger and can fit more technology inside.

x10 design is beTter, desire design is very simple and boring
and if u read my comment i say x10 over desire
internal memory desire over x10 ram size
at the last x10 is better from desire

what good is a large screen when the quality of it is poor? it just makes it easier for ppl to notice its weaknesses.

--> htc desire has more dpi (or ppi) and is amoled with 16mil colors for a more vibrant/crisp image. x10 is 65k colors, tft at a lower dpi. u cud get a bigger screen (4.3") with tft and 65k colors on the htc hd2 if u wanted.

--> completely agree with u. "beter" is not an english word but in turkish it means "worse". htc desire is better.

i love both x10 and desire
actually i love both SE&HTC
but i am a bit disappointment for camera and video quality of desire and the battery performance is not good
but overall steel desire is one of the best phones for now

Jay, 16 Apr 2010Need to get something clarify before i buy a Android phone.... moreu cud use something called root which is like the android equivalent of jailbreaking. google will eventually allow users to automatically save to sd card. currently u hv 2 options: root the phone or save all movies, audio, pics... to sd card and use all internal mem for apps.

Need to get something clarify before i buy a Android phone. Is it true that only "One major flaw in Android is that it won't let you install apps on external memory; only internal memory can be use to install apps "????????

I honestly dont know what ppl are being so negative for, its a great phone.
I got this and my brother got a damned X10 both amazing peices of kit if you ask me.
Admititdley he has a better camera but i can write texts quicker i find and of course have android 2.1 which he has to wait for mwwahahhaha
PS i charged my phone last night and have been up since 7 and my battery is on 45 percent, but hey its a smart phone and ive been messing with it half the day
