Can anyone please confirm if the Desire will come with such nexus one software features as:
Voice to text for any text input field
Google maps with navigation
Google mail sync for mail

Thanks in advance. I am really split between the two phones, in terms of design I prefer the desire, (as I know the touch keys have been a little troublesome on the nexus), and overall itnlooks just a little better to me. Plus the tiny bit extra RAM.

BUT I would really want features such as Voice to text, Navigation, Google mail sync. Now I know the Sence UI has been hacked already and someone is running it on a nexus, so just wondering if its been done the other ways around and people run Voice to text, ect on the Desire

Thanks

So I'm due an upgrade next month and I'm not sure which one to get, Desire looks amazing but I did have a Hero and the UI wasn't very good imo.

The only reason why I'm not sure wether to get the Nexus is it has a trackball and as I'm a longtime BlackBerry user I have grown to hate these trackballs and from what I can see the Desire has opticalpad?

It looks like a fantastic new handset from the smartphone powerhouse HTC !! but ...it would have been unbeatable,if they had made it in the design of the HD2 with a Samsung 4.3 Super Amoled Capacitive screen & 8 mpix camera. I reckon if they had done these 2 changes it would have been a world wide hit comparable to the apple iPhone !! as it stands it's still one of the best upcoming releases and definetly on my upgrade shortlist.

But let's be honest. They are both terrific phones. I'm waiting for this to be released, then I'll decide between the Desire and the Nexus One :)

Can't wait for this to be released!!

Its the Nexus One in a HTC jacket lol

They got their own sense UI and added a few other tweaks but 99% the same as the nexus one

As for apps on the phone you can probs fit around 50 - 100 depending on the size, some games take up about 10mbs+ andother apps like SatNavs take up even more.

To get around the apps problem, jump on down to xda-developers.com for basic knowledge on hacking these babies and installing Apps 2 SD :) sorts everything out ;)

But hands down the Nexus One beats this as the sense ui kinda sucks, plus the guys over at xda-developers are porting the best features from this over to the nexus one anywayz :P

be my Desire, 23 Feb 2010why do we always compare a touch screen phone to iphone? as... moreExactly. Iphone is definitely revolutionary device, primary in terms of implementing applications, touch quality and multitouch as you said. But it is also revolutionary when it comes to its uncustomizability, limitations in every possible way and lack of features that are elementary in mobile world. That being said, i can't stand iphone lovers "arguments" when they come across superior device. The fact that they always refer to the games says much about them and their beloved Iphones.

why do we always compare a touch screen phone to iphone? as a phone, iphone is not that good, but hands down to its responsiveness and screen quality, it also have a ton of Apps that makes iphone a "good" phone and lets admit it, iphone is a revolutionary device, w/o the release of iphone we wont know the multitouch thingy... i personlly hate the thought of it but its true..and it makes apple fanboy jump for joy everytime iphone was being compared to a more advance device like this beautiful desire... i cant wait to get my hands on this phone...

How can you say that we are basically gonna be disappointed with Desire when released if the fact is that release version isn't out yet. So the question is are you HTC insider or just a smartass? I bet it's second. And don't make everything about the games when clearly this is the only thing where Iphone (maybe) beats Desire. And, man, to some of us phone is more than just playing games.
