SamxyS Seriously, it's slower than SGS. I like DHD, too, but obviously, sgs is better. Also the screen in daylight. I have both phones and i can see the difference
First of all, if u want to make a comment worth considering dont put ur name as a samsung fan boy. second of all ive seen alot of galaxy s and DHD phones compared and DHD has always come out as the faster phone (as it should since it has the new snapdragon 8255 processor) which is far superior to galaxy s' A8 processor, as well as the fact DHD has 768mb RAM and SGS has 512mb RAM.. i have seen so many SGS go slow and skippy after adding alot of apps and widgets, whereas the DHD handled them without a flaw. your right that the screen on SGS is better (colour and daylight legibility) but thats about the only thing. so no its not obvious that SGS is better than DHD...

Just downloaded SWYPE (Beta) on to my HTC Desire HD & so far working like a treat.The one thing I really missed from my Samsung Galaxy S.Highly recommended for speedy texting once you get the hang of it!

I got this handset about 4 weeks ago and is great. But battery and speaker is rubbish!!! The battery least for about 15h (with all the changes I made in settings to run longer)

It has it's own gallery, which is very straightforward, same as the desire z. However, you can download the 3d gallery as an app from the market, it's just called 3d gallery, and is almost exactly the same as the original nexus one's 3d gallery, just slower when loading and opening pics.

But c'mon, it still has a 1ghz processor. The experience was comparable to opening trying to open a website on a computer only to freeze the computer. Usually people then click a bunch of times, and after a few seconds you end up opening a dozen links all at once. Just looking at the desire HD in terms of speed, it is certainly one of the fastest phones I've used.
And of course the desire HD's screen is nothing compared to galaxy s's super amoled. There's nothing to be said about that. But screen aside, the galaxy is is such a sorry phone I really don't understand what all the hype is.

I don't understand why people think "a big phone" is in it of itself something bad. It's just not for everyone. I personally think the iphone 4 is too small, but I'm sure some people like the size.
For such a big screen, 4.3 inches, the phone really takes advantage of space. Look at the galaxy s, it's almost just as long (122.4 vs 123) but has a lot of wasted space on the top and bottom. The quality of the screen, however, is something worth rating on a "god" or "bad" scale. Personally I thought the quality was horrendous. The colors are terrible, really light and grayish, especially the black colors. This site even did an article on the screens, and it is no surprise desire HD's screen ranked low in many of the tests. There is a BIG difference between desire HD's screen and nexus one's amoled screen and desire z's SLCD screen. The screen size is 4.3 yet the resolution is 480 x 800, the same as 3.5/3.7 inch screens, which means things are blown up. It's not easy to notice when looking at a picture or playing a game, but when it comes to app icons, some live wallpapers, and contact photos, the pixels are very noticeable. Honestly this is one of the worst screens I've seen because of it's size to resolution ratio, and colors.
Another major disadvantage of this phone is the battery life, which is one of the worst I've used. And i don't know if it was just me, but after talking for about 10 minutes on this phone I got really dizzy. I use a desire z now and I don't have this problem.
Compared to other HTC phones, this one has poor craftsmanship. I'm talking about the battery cover, which when opened the phone immediately shuts down and the battery just slides out. The cover is super tight when there is no battery inside, to the point that you have to pry it off, but with a battery, it's rather loose, and the top part pops up. It's nice to see a swappable SD card now, but the sim card and sd card cover is also loose, and it's hollow underneath, which means you can press down on it. The desire HD looks good, but a closer feel says differently. It certainly doesn't compare to the HD2 craftsmanship.
Also I dropped this phone once, it wasn't dropped very high though, and it was dropped onto an indoor tiled floor. but immediately the corner of the phone dented in, due to the soft metal it uses.
The best thing about this phone is the camera. It's capable of taking some really nice pictures, even in dark areas. It comes with HTC sense, and it's super fast.
Lastly, maybe it was just me, but whenever the batteries were low and I started taking pictures using the flash led, the phone would shut off by itself. Anyone else have this problem??

And will Gingerbread possibly fix the below average music playing quality through earphone (as reviewed by GSMArena) and below average 3GP though 720p video recording (as reviewed by GSMArena)
Please let me know because im choosing between ÐHÐ and HÐ2..

I have no idea why Htc keeps leaving out front facing camera. Maybe it is not important to some but it is 2 me. I have the galaxy s and i wanted to change to this one but i wont again becos of no secondary camera.
