I wonder how ebooks would look on this phone? If they were as readable as on a kindle or other ebook device, that would be a major plus point for the Desire HD.

It's a shame that this only has a super-lcd screen. A Super-AMOLED would have made this a perfect phone for watching movies and viewing pictures. Any chance that Samsung will start supplying the other manufacturers with their screens anytime soon?

Alui, 30 Sep 2010Dream on! The HD battery is not removable.OK, seems that the HD battery is removable. A plus point. It's easier to carry a spare battery than a charger:).
So let's see how long it lasts.
When HD will be released I will test it and compare it with the SGS. After that I will decide which is the best phone.

So I bet, that the larger super LCD will consume more from a smaller battery.

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2010Desire HD has poor battery life, what a disapointment! I me... moreThere are usually higher rated batteries available for phones from third party manufacturers, so surely a higher capacity battery can be used instead of the standard one?

What about the battery for the HTC Evo or HD2, wouldn't this fit into the Desire HD?

I think there'll be ways to get around the battery issue, for those that see it as a problem.

btw.. how often do you use the front camera? Be more practical! I know how shitty it is with my iphone 4! HTC is doing really well with its top notch quality! I believe that this will be the most successful smart phone in the market soon. I was blown away the moment I saw this device. Iphone 4 looks like a previous generation handset (mind you its still beautiful)..

People here are mad! How could you come in to a conclusion without even knowing the power of this phone! Once it is released, Desire HD will be the most powerful phone in the market! It has an all new Snapdragon processor which is more battery efficient and improved GPU as well for stunning graphics! Its the best phone with true to life colours having a beautiful Super LCD. Its heavy because its aluminium. If you want something light, then go for Nokia 1100!! Happy?

Alui, 29 Sep 2010So I have to answer a lot of questions. Here are some answe... moreNot sure where you're getting your information from, but the HTC Desire HD has a newer processor which is currently not in any of the phones out right now. (cause you were comparing it to the current HTC Desire)

The 1GHZ processor is newly designed and is suppose to use up to 30% less battery than the previous generation Snapdragon processors (Desire, Nexus One, Evo, HD2).

Also for the people saying it's heavy. It's heavy because it's made out of aluminum casing. which makes the phone a much much more solid feel.

I have the Galaxy S and let me tell you, it feels very cheap and plastic in hand, i feel like it will break in my hand.

I will switch my Galaxy S for the HTC Desire Z (G2 for me) and if the Desire HD comes to t-mobile, i will get that i instead.

Both the Desire HD and Desire Z have new processors which are suppose to use less battery and be more powerful.
