Hi:
If you want to choose between Neo and Desire S it will still be u to you if camera is your thing neo is better if solid build and nice UI go fro HTC..
Desire S uses gorilla Glass, and most of the brand new HTC phone's that is coming out uses gorilla glass.

Desire S is actually under the list or actually one of the phone that can use video call under skype..
Alarm: some of you wonders if the phone is off it wont alarm, well its an android phone unlike nokia.. android phone does not behave that way it's normal it wont alarm if the phone is off because it kill all processes of the phone and alarm wont run if the phone is off..

Ive had this phone for about 36 hours and have found it randomly turns itself OFF. This has happened about 5 times already.
This cant be normal?? Is this a known fault and/or does this happen to anyone else?
Any help is appreciated.
Also the alarm clock doesnt seem to work if the phone is switched OFF. Never happened with Nokia.
My first "smart" phone and it seems pretty dumb already. Shrugs shoulders

So, you are saying that we can't make video calls unless they release a update? :(
What about skype? At least, can I make video calls via skype? I heard that this handset is not listed in the skype compatible smartphone list???
I like HTC much because of their solid build quality and nice UI. Not like Samsung. But still i'm confused with this handset or Galaxy S. :-S

Can anyone confirm if the Desire S employs Gorilla Glass? I find the Samsung phones using Gorilla Glass technology to have slicker surfaces as compared to HTC units which have a more grippy feeling. Thanks for the feedback guys!

and reagarding the video calling, theres no video calling option yet but i hope htc will look upon this and release a firmware update to enable it. so u gonna have to use other third party apps for video calls.

If you realy need a choice between those two, then I would suggest Nokia C7. Since it is little bit cheaper and has realy good camera too.

I am planning to buy a phone and I can't decide between the HTC Desire S and the Nokia C7. I want a phone with good sunlight legibility, long battery life and a great camera. I don't use apps that much. I just use my phone for text messages and calls. Which should I get?

I loved my Desire S, but you'll notice the past tense. It has now failed badly. Had the WSOD.. a white screen with HTC logo, which stayed for hours.
So I went to HTC site and tried to factory reset, but that didn't work.
Now seems many people have had the same problem and the result is returning it to HTC / ISP.
If you do get the Desire S it may fail after a time, but TBH I see most new phones failing... after all there is profit in technical support!
So backup on a very regular basis, don't download anything until you're very sure it will be ok, and remember, phones are as delicate as eggshells nowadays, they appear tough, but are not, unlike the old bricks (an old Nokia I had years ago was dropped out of a fast moving car, driven over by another and the call was still connected to a rather confused person when recovered - that wont happen with the eggshell phones of now)

1. What is most good, SAMSUNG GALAXY S or HTC DESIRE S?
2. I've heard that SAMSUNG GALAXY S is able to play various media formats such as '.mkv'. So what about HTC DESIRE S? Can it be PLAYED .mkv files too?
3. In DESIRE S, Can I make VIDEO CALLS by simply dial a number and calling? Or should I download any other 3rd party app for video calling?

I m having a problem in ambient sensor of htc desire s after the software update to 1.48.707.1. the screen does not turn off when during call i touch the fone to my face and some time it just turn off and didnt get back after i move it back from my face.....plzzzz help???

Has anyone tried Airtel 3G on this handset? How is the speed? My handset shows only WCDMA or GSM ntw connection types. So does this one support HSDPA?
Also the Airtel EDGE speed on this one is very slow!!

Hi guys. I have a big problem now. I've updated my software to 1.47.401.4 FOTA yesterday, all ok for now, only BIG issue: I cannot download anything from MARKET now - I can acces/browse MARKET aplication, but when I give the OK for down it remains on DOWNLAODING and nothing happens on any app. Anythng works well otherwise except GOOGLE TALK LOGIN. Please help !!!
